I GOT MY TT-01
I FINALLY GOT MY TT-01, i was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on any good hop up parts for drifting, ex. motors, esc, tips, aluminum/carbon fiber parts, etc.
THX IN ADVANCE |
RE: I GOT MY TT-01
bearings, lock rear diff, aluminum propeller shaft. oil shocks, a good motor for drifitng is the monster stock pro co27, assuming you dont have this stuff already.
|
RE: I GOT MY TT-01
lol, thx, ill look into getting those, question thought, wouldn't a 19t motor be better for driftin?
|
RE: I GOT MY TT-01
no... a 27 gives off more HP, and you want more HP to drift.
And you also want some PVC, ABS, or Yokomo tires. |
RE: I GOT MY TT-01
horsepower?!?! dont you meant torque. actually truth be told there are 19t motors that coudl give more torque and still give speed. like a team checkpoint 19t money motor. its torquey very torquey. and a fast motor. ill be getting one soon. you might want to consider this motor. if you do decide to get it. you will have to get a new esc if you have a tamiya one because they only handle down to 27t. but the co27 is still good. either way they are both still good motors. about tires. yes you woudl want abs or pvc or yok. i would rather have abs because they give more grip than pvc and are black so they look more realistic. and they are cheaper than yokomo tires. watever you do. have fun drifting

RE: I GOT MY TT-01
actually the tamiya esc can handle down to a 23 turn motor and if u want a good motor for the dollar that provides plenty of speed and lots of torque the tamiya tz is the one i am going with
|
RE: I GOT MY TT-01
wen was the last time u saw a 23t motor. not including the tamiya sport tuned motor. and tamiya esc are actually only rated for tamiya motors. my tamiya esc gets blazing hot wen running teh co27

RE: I GOT MY TT-01
Show the pics, if you're upgrading it, do a drift video without upgrades (other than tires) and then one with the other upgrades :)
|
RE: I GOT MY TT-01
TEU101BK ESC is not Recommended past the Tamiya Sports tuned motor.
The TZ and RZ may be rated 23T but are High Current drawing motors and the TEU-101 wont run them too good. Best Suggestion is to upgrade the ESC to a 15T with Reverse. Avoid LRP AI ESC's as they are not responsive enough for Drifting. Duratrax Intellipeak 8T ESC or a M-troniks RV11 ESC would be highly recommended if you intend to run any other motor other then a Tamiya Sports Tuned.. Once you get the Ball Bearing kit and Alloy propshaft the TT-01 begins to release its Drifting potential.. |
RE: I GOT MY TT-01
YEah, id reccoemnd you upgrade the ESc, to somthing inexpensive, but relible. Like the Novak XRS. If you really really dont wanna od that (cnat see why not) then your gonna have to get a 27T motor. and ive found the best for drifting to be the Trinity Co27, and id reccoemnd you get the pro versiion, its like $2 more, and has a long long list of small little detailed work to it that makes a difference in the long run.

RE: I GOT MY TT-01
im guessing that your not gonna have enough money to buy a 80 dollar esc. so you should go with wat has already been reccomended and get the xrs. if you cant aford that. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXGZX1&P=ML then that woudl be a good esc. you can only go down to 18 turns though. so watch that.

RE: I GOT MY TT-01
Wow if you do get that Duratrax with the Trinity co27 pro motor we'd have exactly the same setups in our cars. You'd have the TT01 and I'd have a Himoto Nascada. This could make for an interesting apples to apples comparison if you're interested. :) That you haven't upgraded anything yet would be perfect too. I intend ot do some stock drifting with some abs tires with my rig then install the upgrades and try it again I'll shoot video of both.
Here is what I'll be putting into the Himoto Nascada: [ul][*]1X Himoto Nascada 4wD Shaft $89.00 (ebay)[*]1X DuraTrax (18T) IntelliSpeed DTXM1059 Auto-Sport Forward/Reverse ESC $37.99 (tower)[*]1X Trinity (27T) Co27 Monster Stock Pro Motor $31.99 (tower)[*]4X Tenergy 7.2V 3500mAh NiMH 6C Battery Packs $49.88 (ebay)[*]1X HPI r34 GTR Skyline Body $24.56 (ebay)[*]1X Yokomo Light Buckets for Skyline $13.49 (ebay)[*]1X Speedway Pal Slidemaster Chrome 8.5mm offset Wheels (4) $21.99 (genki dori)[*]1X Yokomo Super Drift Zero-ONE 'R' Tyres (4) 23.42 (ebay) [/ul] |
