AE TC3 Differentials ???????

I have heard that its good to lock the differentials for drifting. Why? can somebody explain why this is good.

I have not opened my TC3 diffs yet, Just want to ask if they are easy to lock.

Thanks,

RE: AE TC3 Differentials ???????

It's easy to do, and it might not involve opening the diff case. I have 2 TC4's.

All you have to do is stick the right size allen wrench tool into the left outdrive (left if you're looking at the chassis from the back). There's a tiny screw/bolt in there that can be turned, clockwise to tighten. Hold the opposite wheel so it won't turn while you tighten. And hand tighten only - don't use pliers or anything - because it's possible to overtighten and mess up your diff. Just hand-tighten it until it feels snug, and that's it.

If you can do all that without opening the diff case, great. Personally I found it hard to get that wrench in there, so I just opened the case up, took the diff out, and tightening was a cakewalk.

You'll want to lock both diffs probably. But don't tighten the front quite as tightly as the back.
