rim offset

what is offset on rims? does it mean that the back rims are larger? if so, do ABS still fit on them? and is offset rims good for drifting?

RE: rim offset

The offset of a wheel is the amount of distance the profile of the wheel sits based on the center section of the hub. the offset will make a wheel stick out further from a car, thus being more flush with a wider body. A wheel with a "0" offset is centered. A wheel with a "positive number" offset, will stick out further. Likewise, a wheel with a "negative number" offset will be closer the car.

Here is a pic to better explain:

Regarding ABS, this has nothing to do with it. If you order the ABS tires from sflrcdrift.com, they will fit over the standard 10th scale, 26mm wheels.

I hope this helps

Mark B,

Those are really cool wheels!!! Who makes them? Also, is that body a standard 10th scale body? It looks a bit shorter than normal.

urc yes its a standard 190mm 1/10 body , i think its just the size of the wheel and design that makes it look smaller plus the camera angle

Are the wheels standard 26mm 10th scale wheels?

can you take a pic from the top/side. This way we can see the offset width compared to the wheel well.

Thanks

Do u think 10mm offset sticks out too much for a CLK-DTM 2002 AMG-Mercedes?

If it's 190mm in the front and 200mm in the rear go for 6 -7 mm in the front and 10 in the rear

RE: rim offset

rcu , yes they are a standard 26mm wide , plus they are the same diameter as a standard wheel with a tyre on , so it doesnt affect gearing , :D

RE: rim offset

The offset of your rims depends on the body. Every 190mm body is exactly 190mm. For example the Yok IS200 IS 196.8mm I believe. So a larger offset would be needed for that body than say a HPI S15 that is 191mm.

Hi can anybody tell me if these offset rims would look good on this body? [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTX45&P=7]Body[/link] and these [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLME7&P=7]rims[/link] should i get them 3mm or 6mm?

mugenx 03-06-2007 07:34 PM

RE: rim offset

so if i were go get a pack of 4 rims that are 7mm offset, does that mean that all the wheels stick out the same, or the back wheels stick out 7mm more than the front wheels.

magnat 03-06-2007 08:28 PM

RE: rim offset

7mm Offset would mean all wheels stick out 7mm..

7mm Offset would mean all wheels stick out 7mm..
Would stick out 7mm past the center of the hub, not necessarily 7mm out of the wheel well. Just some clarification
