drifting pvc

So i attempted to make drifting tires but no luck. I bought some new wheels got some pvc and when i put it over the wheel its not tight. I have seen a how to but it doesnt describe anything. Do i need to chisel the lip off the wheel for it to be a tight fit? My cutting not so straight with a hacksaw what else could i use? I tried a dremel didn't work. I need a how to thats more informative rather than 30 seconds of cut, bake, slip. Thats not a how to really. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx Bones

Really trhats all to it,

If you use standard 55mm rims then you can just heat them and put them over for a tight fit,

What rimz and mm PVC r u using?

I am not sure there is an exact fit for PVC over standard 10th scale wheels, which are approx 50-55mm (I think)

I can speak from experience, I have tried the PVC as well, and it is not worth the time. It is hard to do, slick and not a fun drift.

Go purchase a set of these: http://www.sflrcdrift.com/ Look towards the bottom. Tell John that United RC sent you!!!

ABS Black, so they look real, and they have more grip than PVC. They just tap on your 10th scale wheels VERY easily, and no glue is required. I have 2 sets, and I love em!

The are mounted on the wheels, picture here: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5513444/tm.htm

2" PVC will not fit on Superstars.
Needs to be a regular 1/10th sedan rim for the 2" PVC to fit.

Ok..I was going from memory, but there is a standard PVC pipe that can be found at Home Depot or Lowes that fits the Superstar wheels....maybe 2.25? Not sure...but you can take a wheel to the store and test fit it...it is what I did.
