tt-01 drifting problems
 

hey guys im new to the website and read up on all the stuff you guys inputed on the tt-01. back to my problem, i been trying to build a drift car for awhile and bought all the major hops up needed to drift properly drift. im running the tamiya bearing kit, rear ball diff, front diff mod. (locks the front diff), aluminum propeller shaft, 61 teeth spur gear, 19x2 motor, novak speed control, hitec 585 servo, turnbucle kit, aluminum steering rods, yokomo drift tires.

and still i have troubles getting the cars to drift. i have to almost force it to drift and try really hard to hold it. I don't know what to do. any suggestions?

First thing you need to do is lock the back diff. The front can be locked too or you can use a one way in the front. If your using the Yokomo single ring drift tires then use 0 camber on the rear and about 2 degrees up front then go and do a test run.

i don't know how to lock the ball differential. lol sorry im a big newb. and also, how do you adjust the camber on the tt01. i dont belive there is a way to? or do i need to buy more hop ups to do so?

You mentioned the turnbuckle kit so I thought you had the adjustable upper arms to adjust camber. If you dont then camber wont be too much of an issue. In terms of locking the diff, why not just put the stock diff back in and lock that?

just tighten the ball diff screw, but not too tight cuz the tamiya screw snaps very easily. Get some HPI differential screws.

put the ball diff in the front and the locked one in the rear this will work better. also wat tyres are u using ? i drifted a stock tt-01 with a 540. so im thinking it must be your tyres. if they are tamiya drift tyres u realy need a motor about a 15t double for them other wise get sum abs pipe tyres cheap and most effective far suppiror to pvc pipe and a 10th of the price of yokomo's.

im using yokomos right now. but ill definetlly try putting the ball diff in the front.

Definetly unlock the front diff, w/ a locked front diff you'll get TONS of understeer... Tires are another big thing. If you want to get a little sideways then use tt-01 stock tires, but your gonna need some decent power w/ stock tires. If you wanna stay sideways w/ low power then get some yokomo drift tires, those wrk pretty good. Hope that helped

u need to have the front diff semi lock otherwide the steering problems. u cant sdrift on stok tyres with out damaging somthing. abs pip is hell of alot cheaper than yokomo and last 5 times longer.

I'm having problems drifting this car in its stock configuration. I have ABS wheels on it and it seems to want to drift to one side OK, but when I try to drift it to the other side it seems unwilling. It also seems very underpowered, compared to the Himoto Nascada. I've also been having some issues with my ABS tires staying attached to the wheels so I need to solve that issue first.

super glue ur tyres to the rims, get a new motor for motre powa 19turn double is great,lock ur diffs to fix tehe drifting problem and get ball bearinf and a alloy propeller shaft

I did glue them on I guess I must have not done a very good job so I'm going to try again. I think I should have used thin CA glue I'm using medium right now.

alright my current set up is ball diff in the front. and stock diff (with one way mod) in the rear. car seams alright, just that its hard to control.

wen drifting with a lock tt-01 it will be a lil harder to control. all you have to do is master the feint drift if your using a less powerfull motor, if u got power just powa slide .

would it be good to just put the ball bearing in the rear again and buy a one way diff in the front? would that work better?

alright guys. i tried everything you guys said and i aprreciate all your guys input.

my current set up is:
ball diff in the front
stock diff mod in the rear
yokomo zero one R tires
carbon top plate
metal motor mount
aluminum steering rods
19X2 motor

and it still has major understeer or if i get it to drift im trying hard to keep it in the drift or when i transition it just spins out?

any input would be great, like if i should get some more hop ups to help my drifting?

Sorry about the off topic question but what does a 19x2 motor mean i get what the 19 means but the x2... not shure.. sorry 4 noob question and off-topicness :S
