whats the diff between the 5700KV and the 7700KV?

5700kv is similar to a 9 turn brushed motor.
7700kv is similar to a 4 turn brushed motor.

7700kv is faster, but uses more energy=less runtime

5700kv has an even balance of torque and speed.
7700kv is more for speed.

What are you putting the brushless kit in, and what do you intend on doing with it?

RC Car magazine reviewed them both a few months ago, very informative.

My HPI Sprint 2 touring car has the 5700KV in it, and its plenty powerful enough.

i'm putting it into my tt01. i hope this will greatly boost performance. thanks for your input. how long have you had you brushless system? is it comparable to nitro?

Hope you got some hopups on that tt-01 like racebearings,ali-propshaft etc or that mamba will rattle it apart lol :D

really? i've bought the bearing kit, the alu shaft, adjustable tie rods, adjustable upper arms. do i need anything else?

5700kv is an over kill for the tt-01. tt-01 is not brushless friendly at all due to the weak gears. I would upgrade the spur gear and pinion gear with robinson racing. i droved a tt-01 with 4600kv and it was plenty of power and speed. throttle curve was set to its lowest with stock 61t spur and 24t pinion.

brushless is overkill in a tt-01 drift car.
My friend has a the mamba max toned all the way down and still is too much power.
for $60 you can get a 19t motor and dynamite tazer esc.

i may try upgrading the spur and pinion. also in what aspect is it over kill? too much power means...? tearing up the drive train? uncontrolable? i'm not trying to be rude, i just want to know so that i can have a better idea.

My STOCK Sprint 2 drifts awesome with the 5700kv brushless kit. It will out accelerate my Jato 2.5, if you don't spin out. :eek:

Guys com down,

Don't worry, get the mamba 5700 and order some tought kimbrough gears,

Make sure to set the mesh correctly and use plenty of thread lock,

Next make sure you set up ur car right, Then Dail into the mamba with the USB and set the throttle curve to low!,

After, u might want to change ur tires to HPI rubber, If not get normal rimz and tires and before glueing leave out the

Insert and get a PVC peice and put it under the tires.

BTW what batt r u using??

i can't find any spur gear hop ups for the tt01! oh and i'm using a piranha 1900 nicd and a duratrax 3800 nimh

I recemend that you don't use the 1900 NiCd with the mamba,

NiCd are old technology and can really damage the motors and controls,

Not to metion about 2 mins of runtime!

yeah i've discovered this already and i'm bumed out about having to pay 34$ for a new bat...oh well. thanks though!

now as for those who told me that brushless on a tt01 is overkill....YOU CAN NOT BE MORE WRONG!
it's a boost in power but it's nothing overwhelming. it's much faster than the stock motor and is quicker than my nitro but top speed wise, the BL tt01 and the VoneS are pretty much even. i love the speed and quickness of the tt01 but having to charge batteries is a huge bummer for me as i'm used to the fuel and go of the nitro.

drifting wise, on the BL tt01 i have ran ABS and tamiya drift compound tires. the abs is fun with all that power but once i tried the drift rubbers it was a whole new experience! i could drift longer distances at faster speeds with them and going faster is so much of a rush!
i don't think i will use abs again on the BL tt01

as for the nitro i have not tried the drift rubbers yet but abs drifts similar to pvc (the engine revs it's head off)

i think my designated drifter is now the BL tt01 and the VoneS will be my speed demon.

in conclusion:

thank you to all for you input. i'm completely satisfied with the brushless up grade.

the spur upgrade pack is 58t and 55t as for overkill what everyone means is the tt-01 wasnt built for brushless even though with upgrades on the drive train it will handle the power but trust the drive is awful unless set to low [:o]
I tried my friends mm tt-01 and it was hard enough to keep straight let alone drive dont get me wrong it is max fun but it will kill your car in the end :D

i've got adjustable arms and ties. you're friend may not have his tt10 set up right. i can do 35+mph in a strait shot with my tt01. thanks for the spur info i haven't done any spur upgrades yet because i can't find a tougher spur but i have not stripped any teeth on the stock one yet so i'm not worried.

i have rolled the car several time on speedy drifts but no harm done. just a few scratches on the beautiful STI body...it looked so nice before i rolled..

Im jk I now some people love the brushless for driftin, all of us have different driftin stylz so its natural for us,

to have different set-up,
