Differential Question
For the tt-01r someone has said that instead of getting ball differentials you can just get heavy weight silicone oil. Is this true? and how heavy of the stuff do u need to get?
|
RE: Differential Question
isnt that oil for the shocks? I dont see how this connects with differentials :/
|
RE: Differential Question
nope there is differential oil [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFTX7&P=7]Diff = Differential[/link]
|
RE: Differential Question
Just put a lot of Play Doh in the rear diff for lock it. And in the front, try to play with different amounts of PlayDoh for just tight it.
It works really, really well in my TT-01R |
RE: Differential Question
I would stay with the Gear diffs for driftin in the rear FoSho,
And you can just use play doah or clay to tight it or lock it up! |
RE: Differential Question
you can use thick oil.. i do on my monster trucks and 1/5th scale cars..
on a drift car dude all you need is to lock it..like the dude's above have mentioned, if you want some play in your diff go with a 100000 weight oil, very thick or even thicker, it will be better idf you want to play around with it, instead of pulling doe out of all the bevel gears, i use blue-tac but oil is a good way if you want to play around with set-ups!...;) |
RE: Differential Question
Oil should be used in a sealed diff and grease in a unsealed diff. Oil in unsealed diff=mess.
|
RE: Differential Question
You mean= BIG MESS.......LOL!;)
|
RE: Differential Question
all you need to slove that is a gasket of a 1/8th diff... sorted,,,...:D
|
RE: Differential Question
The silicone oil is intended for 1/8 buggy diffs which are sealed. If you put this oil in your open diff, it will flow out slowly. The best bet is Tamiya Anti Wear Grease, or Losi super thick diff grease. It is designed for applications that are not sealed.
|
RE: Differential Question
hmmm... thanks! i'll try the losi diff grease when the oil in my diffs is all gone!
|
RE: Differential Question
Tamiya Grease is also good for a cheap shot,
You can get them for free from most Hobby Shops! |
RE: Differential Question
OR just take out one of the bevel gears and place it between the other two that works too [sm=thumbup.gif]
|
RE: Differential Question
Yeah i remember someone gave me that tip,
And ive been trying ever since, But the Lid doesnt go on when the bevel is between< Any help????![&:] |
RE: Differential Question
It won´t work!!!!!!, I´ve tried it every time that I opened my diff. The reason why it doesn´t work it´s because the guy who posted that tip showed the photo of a TLT-01´s diff which is very similar. Just try the Play Doh.
