pvc tire problem/question
 

hey guys sorry if this is stupid but i am new to this and i just put pvc tires over my rims and when i go to drift it, it slides way way way to much like all it does is spin around and around. I wont even gas it hard and when i turn the car just lets the back end go and it does a 180, sooo i was wondering what i may have done wrong

That's probably do in part to the fact PVC is the equivalent of sliding on ice with GREESE wheels. Try to find some ABS or d-spec tires (preferably ABS to keep the $$ low). They're all over Cali in hardware stores and whatnot. And, in Cali, everyone sells'em. do a search. You can also find some premade on ebay.

i have a tt-01

yeah i have a pretty thick piping and it is way to slippery soo i will see if i can pick some abs today if thats what you guys think will do it

Are you counter steering when the Tail gets loose??

as Neon guy has Said it is like driving on ICE with greased wheels but this is good.

Once you have mastered the PVC Slide, all the other Tyres will be easier to slide on.
I started on PVC, Mastered the slide on PVC then moved to Black polypipe..

its pretty hard to explain this, i will go to turn it but when i do the car will just do a 180 no matter how hard i counter turn, if i turn it like the slightest bit it just slids out, and i am not sure why cause it looks like i did the same exact thing other people have done and theres drift just fine where mine looses it like crazy. I used my stock tires with electical tape over them before and it worked pretty good i was just looking for move slid, but now it out of my control its so bad

i must have done something wrong... the pvc is pretty thick may that have something to do with it?

what are you drifting on? carpet? roads?

The sushi drift is fine. I think a few people here have bought from them.

As far as your sliding out, some of it is your tires and some of it is your skill. I say change the tires cuz it's harder to learn on PVC because it's so slippery. But, once your skill level increases, it will make drifting on any surface/tire combo MUCH easier. It'll come with time.

yeah i wouldnt mind drifting it on carpet but i dont have any to use.. i use it on road areas, and i could drift it fine with my rubber tires and electircal tape and when i put the pvc on it was no where close to the way i had it before... thanks for the help guys and i ordered those sushi tires hopefuly that wll do the trick
