need some advice

ok i just moved to the uk from america and have noticed how big drifting is over here and have set aside a budget for a touring car and some minor upgrades i was considering two chassis that have parts support relatively near where i live the Tamiya TT-01 and TA-05. i was leaning towards the TT-01 because of its versatility (easy conversion from drifter to racer to rally and such) but the TA-05 seems to be more stable and better at racing. so i'm stuck and need to know which drifts better and is easier on a beginner (previous experiences include taping the tires on a mini lst) because that's the highest on my list.

hi dude..

your right with what you said, i feel a tt-01 is better, easy to build..+ fun!
you can get a lot of parts easily and they can drift out of the box if you get one that is a D spec car!

However, I have a TA05 and feel that it handles like an absolute dream now it's dialled in. They are cheap as chips really off E-Bay for what they are fully adjustable from the off so you don't have to worry about 'having' to upgrade anything. However, it's probably one of the most upgradable ones out there due to all the different bits you can get for them.

As you're from the UK too, you may wanna wander over to D1RC. We have a few people in Maidstone who drift... and a whole handful more in Essex.

TA-05 would be a good choice,

but belts can break and for a beginner can be a hastle,

and sometimes dailing it in can be a pain!

First off, BOATEXPERT144, sand down the edges on your car. It looks like you made the cuts with your teeth. The car is really nice, but that definately takes away from it. Especially on close-ups.

Unseen: If you're going to be racing AND drifting, base your decision of a car on race requirements. It's FAR MORE specific than drifting. And unlike drifting, racing and winning races has A LOT to do with what car you're driving. As far as drifting goes, all you need is 4WD and some tires.
Keep this in mind. A race car can drift, but a drift car usually doesn't race well. My TC4 is/was set-up for racing. IT drifted just fine without any mods. My Yok was set-up for drifting. I had to do quite a bit to tune it for competitive racing because racing is SOOOOO specific. So, I just said effit and left it as is. I still would race it, but just for fun (which seems to piss off racers).
