good surface
hey im gonna get into drifting and i was wondering what whould be a good serface to drift on.
aslo this may sould funny but can i drift my 1/8 scale buggy if i put slicks and exc... so that i dont have to buy a new car..and if i can what size clutch bell should i use. |
RE: good surface
smoother the better m8 pavement or newiest roads are best.
and yeh you can drift mostly any quality rc with the right tyres and setup;) as for the clutchbell question?im a nitro noob so my advice is stick with the standard setup cos u want alot of torque and less speed for drifting. hope that helps m8 let us know how you get on maybe a vid some time:D |
RE: good surface
Your going to need ABS or atleast bare rims to drift a 8th scale buggy. Those thing has alot of traction and are nitro so the torque needs to be built up to spin the tires. Slicks will offer alot of traction and you don't want that. What buggy do you have?

RE: good surface
LX ultra one is my buggy

RE: good surface
you should try some putting electric tape wrapped round your tyres and see if it drifts
should break traction easily enough;) |
RE: good surface
Befor i start. Make sure u run engine nice and rich due to lack of cooling effect or else it'll cook
K for buggys we've found cutting old tires off the rim but still leaving the rubber beads where they glue on works best as that little bit of rubber adds some much needed drive |
RE: good surface
New smooth roads are really good. Tennis courts are even better.
