How to make an indoor drifting track
Hey guys im a new person to drifting and this guide gives you great ideas on how to make good drifting tracks in your own home.
Now there are 4 different cost levels to my guide depending on the amount of time you put into your track it will be fun anyways you make it =) Level 1 (0-50$): This is a great low priced setup although it doesnt give you the full feel of actually making a good track that you can enjoy totally but it still is worth the money. Now assuming you have a good space in your attic or basement (NOTE: surface must be smooth so concrete works great) there are a few things you can use, one is to get some old chairs your not using and putting them around your space or for a more exspensive look but not tottally into a 800$ track you should order some of the track dots ([link=http://www.atomicmods.com/Products/Team-Losi-LOSB1013-Neon-Orange-Track-Dots__12585.aspx]Track dots[/link] this link has them for a great deal) Now this works great, the dots are pretty durrable and its an ausome deal 12 dots for 4.99+ S+H. Level 2 (40-80$): This is another great option for a low price, go to your neighborhood home depot and go to the contractor section and look for a brown 1cm thick sheet that is really smooth and and it should be pretty cheap i think 6.00$-10.00$ a sheet and they measure like 5ft by 3ft and they pretty light weight, take some tape 8 sheets and tape them together then you can use the dots or just use some masking tape to outline the track. Level 3 (70-120$): Now this gets tricky first start off by taking a few sheets of plywood and some wood finish, make sure that it is NOT VERY SLIPERY OR YOU WILL SPIN OUT now take some 2X4 beams and elevate the track on them now get a whole in the center to be able to stand there, you may get dizzy but it gives you a better view of the track make sure that you have paint because you'll want to paint the track BEFORE you put the wood finish on it, make the track gray and paint the rest green also for an added feature put some pits in and some of those corner red/white red/white things that they have if you overshoot a corner. Level 4 (120-300$): Man if you have this much money to spend on a track you really are going to have fun. Basicly this is a more exspensive version of the level 3 track, you can make it bigger maybe add some bridges (these really look ausome on tracks) so what you can add to get an ausome look are some buffer walls NOTE: these might dent up your car.... A LOT so be careful, you can also experiment with other materials. Thanks for reading hope you make a good track GL ALL. |

i have had fun with simple pvc pipe a couple t connectors and a hacksaw
---------------------------------------------------- i i i i i -------------------------- i or somthing like that (and for like mini z's and xmods a 4ft square is i i i perfect so you only need 3 8ft lengths of pvc witch is really cheap and i i i best part is the longes pieces are only 4ft so you can take it apart and i i i put it in the back of most cars and take it whereever or in the thouse i------------ i -----------i for 1:10's i would reconmend atleast and 8x8 square witch could still be i i i collapsable in pieces no bigger than 4ft just cut the pieces that are long i i i in half and use some straight connectors. belive me go to home depot and i -------------------------- i with $20 you will leave with and awsome pvc track. and wat you don't use i i can be turned in to drift tires so there is no waste! i i i i i--------------------------------------------------i |
