Drift tires for M18
Does any company make drift tires for a Xray M18? I dont want to use PVC because it slide TOO much. I've used electrical tape on them and they work pretty good but dont last all that long. So i'm looking for a hard compund tire that'll last. I dont know if Micro RS4 tires will fit. Please let me know. Thanks guys

RE: Drift tires for M18
Using ABS would be the same as using PVC. Too much slide not enough grip for me. I hate doing really slow drifting. I like having some tires with a little grip and a little slip. I know with my Hpi Sprint, the Yokomo's worked great. Loved them. I read last night that the Micro RS4 rims/tires will fix the M18 so I'm going to give them a try. There a hard compund tire. Should be nice. Thanks for the post though.

It actually isn't the same at all. ABS is a softer plastic than PVC, therfore gripping the road better than the PVC. I don't know of any actual 'drift' tires that will fit that car, there aren't too many mini drifters out there. There must be something though. Google showed that everyone who did it either used cut pipe or tape, so I don't think so :(
EDIT : Didn't see that you said those tires would fit. Good luck :D Have fun drifting! |

I use Hpi abs tires and also locked the front diff and the rear is really loose. Here are some pics

RE: Drift tires for M18
I just got some new Aluminum front and rear diffs, both adjustable. I have both the front and rear pretty tight and it seems to work great. I also went and bought some Hpi Tires that fit the RS4. They are super sweet. But is there a big difference between locking the front and keeping the back loose?

RE: Drift tires for M18
At first I did not have any of them locked and It was a bit out of control. It will spin out a lot, so I went and locked the front diff. By locking the front diff it gives you more control of the car, at least for this car, in my opinion. Its all up to the driver, just try locking front then rear, play with the setups and see what you like best. I have four 1/10th scale and two 1/18th scale drifters and they all are set up different:D
