Hi~~!,

so today.. after school swimming(AIC yay... [off topic but meh]), i took my two batteries and whacked in my car and went to the shopping centre car park, even though... my car is a lil buggered atm, (some weired thing, ill tell ya if u wanna know, no one has an idea why its doing it) anyways! it was great, aside from people going "get a real car rc's r for tools" or "thats **** get a real rc"... from people with a wharehouse(aussie cheapy store) car, but was great could hold a drift around the corners and those oval road islands, and did an okay job at chain drifts in between pilons (slalom) so yah, just thought i'd spill my guts... i have a rz super stock and abs tyres on my tl-01.. bggy lolz... it's pretty good, i think ill get pvc next time, just to compare and probably a erm 15t brushed, just cos i cant afford a brushless system unless i save like, a whole year.. chore money(woo) and i can never save that long, plus i dont think i need anything under 15t, im not racing ne one, so yah... aww well... cya's

I too get the " Get a Real Car" (Which to my reply is : fine you buy the tyres for it then)

People will always claim " Stop playing with toys" they soon shut up when you reply with " OK fine, book me rehab as I am gonna take up drugs to get the same sort of rush"


Besides that,,

I don't recommend going a 15T with PVC... too much RPM resulting in an uncontrolled Slide, Stick with the RZ and the ABS and practice

RZ has enough oomph to pull of easy 10footers...

Ya, i'm gunna be using a 19turn on my drifter. Thats all u need, and you'll get better runtime. =-]

okay for now ill stick with the 23t as i convert it from buggy to just a normal tl-01 and all that jazz, ill buy alloy arms and knuckles, well if needed, should i? then Maybe ill go lower, but its true the 23tRZ does have enouhg oomph for most drifts ive done just wish my car would run proplerly (if i turn left my car decelerates(lowering RPM making hard do drift) and if i turn right it accelerates(making the car go from half rpm to full rpm so i cant turn unless i slow down again makes chans impossible if i start right) i think i may need a new TX any ideas where i can get one? i dont really wanna go over 80$ au so it doesnt need to be amazing.

Update:

Today i just went out the front and layed out my two hockey sticks to make a "v" shape with a gap in the middle eg : \ /
even though my road is probably two stones away from being gravel, i some how managed to squash it into something driftable and practice drifting in and around the "v" to ME it seemed better than a figure of eight but thats just my preferance.

im going to the netball courts( like 100m x 50m of perfectly flat smooth concrete) with some chalk, and.. water to wash it off(gotta be clean to be able to use it again) and im gonna set up an actual track, hope it goes ok ^.^

Dude... If your going to the Netball courts... Go and buy a Pack of 4 Tennis Balls for like $2 at the reject shop.. Cut them in Half, use them as track markers with the lines of the netball courts...

See if you can't Drift around the Centre circle...

PS: i found out that i get about 15 runs off of my abs tyres on rough bithcumen road (a run being 20 minutes so 15x 20 = 300 divide by 60 = 5 hours :O i think in worked it out right)

Try some HDPE tires. seem to give a good balance of speed and slip on the asphalt.

i got some blue pipe today, for 2 bucks and its enuff to make 4 tyres, with 4 rings as well, dunno if ill use the rings, i dunno what its called so ill test it today and tell ya how it went after, also ill try to figure out what kinda pipe it is

High Density refers to the way the Molecules of the Poly Ethylene is manufactured.. there is High and Low Density..

This seems like a good thread for me too! I just bought an Associated 18R (1/18 scale), it's a lil' drifter. I put a Mamba 8000 Brushless system in it with a two cell lipo, and put PVC on the rims. The large brushless/lipo set up is way overkill on the power, but I'll probably go back and forth between grip racing and drifting. I wish I could find something with just a little more traction. It drifts WAY good on carpet and pretty good on cement, but asphalt drives like ice. The tires it came with are very "grippy", so they're good for speed runs or driving on a track, but the PVC seems a little too slick. I noticed people talk about abs and hdpe; are either of these a softer compound that might grab just a little more than PVC? Thanks for your help.

abs is softer so u get more grip, i juist havent found any, ive only been to bunnings so ill go to mitre 10 next to see, then the no name one, but at bunnings they didnt even have pvc that would fit, which sucked
im gonna look for a store that would have a reason to stock Loads of pipe next
