RE: hpi sprint any good?

my tt01 with a 20t and 3300 matched pack gets a good 8-10 minutes.

i have read of problems with the sprint 2. i have a tt01, which are cheaper, very strong and drift well with only minor upgrades. you can buy a tt01d, which comes with the needed upgrades, namely-alum drive shaft, ball bearing, alum motor mount and heat sink and drift tires.
you can find a used tt01, many of which will have these upgrades already, for around $100-$150 with extras.

Sprint 2 Slides Easier then a TT-01...

Sprint 2 can pull of some amazing drifts

If I had the Choice between a TT-01 and a Sprint 2 then the Sprint 2 gets the Nod (Yes I have Both and use the Sprint 2 more then my TT01)

Thing is, the Sprint 2 is a belt drive, and belts do wear out.. and will wear out alot quicker if you slide on an unprepped surface..

i would have to say tt01. the tt01 needs some work to get it sliding as good as some others, but once it does its butter. also your runtime will depend if you peak charger your cells or if you quick charge em because if you quick charge em it wont do jack squat for you.

Yes a Charger with Info Display is highly recommended

SJPro Swallow Advance or Swallow 2
Triton Jr
Imax B5 and B6
LRP Pulsar Sport
LRP Pulsar 2
LRP Pulsar 3
Just to name a few are all brilliant Chargers with info screens that you can monitor and are able to tell when your batts are in need of deep cycling.

Karl, I am new to drifting and rc's. I have purchased 4 rc's in the last month. Stampede, rc18t, losi micro-t, and a sprint 2 drift rtr. Let me tell you this. I am a pretty good driver in real life (in my 30's).

My point is that the sprint 2 drifts right outta the box with very little effort. It is phenominal. I love drifting it around cones. It looks like something you would see on TV. I wish I could drift my real car like this one.

If you get one, you will like it. The first thing to do is to lock your rear diff, which will make you take the rear end apart. (this is a good learning excercise) Then make sure your dremel out the diff cover. This will keep you from breaking your belts.

Good luck and let us know what you get.

Stevenx

My Sprint 2 never needed the Rear diff to be locked, Just reset the Camber all round so the polypipe tyres sit flat... and that was it... its Tail out happy Stock...

Mine drifts really ausome, yes belts wear down but they pretty inexspensive for new ones and doesnt take long to change so i think the sprint 2 is a great car to get, if you have to make a choice based on money go for the sprint 2 it comes with everything except for battery and charger (and you need 8 AA baterys for the controller) anyways its a great car i got mine for a exspensive price though, brand new i was looking at 300-320 USD and then charger and battery another 140 total so it came to 450 USD thats about....225 pounds i forget im not a currency converter -.- anyways yea you can get MUCH cheaper sprint 2s just it was christmas when my dad got me mine so all stores were sold out or up around 500$ we bought local and got a great car for 300, good luck man the sprint 2 is the way to go, its easy to drift and the body selection from HPI is great (yea you can get other companys bodys too) but HPI has some nice ones, im getting a new RX-8 body =)

ok cya
