Drifting..
Hey all. I know alot of posts have been made about any special things you need for drifting... i have 2 questions for everyone.
1. do i just use slick tyres to drift with? 2. Is it true that its easier to drift a 2wd car? I was told that i can disconnect 4wd to make it a 2wd? is this just a load of crap sumone put in my head? |
RE: Drifting..
1) abs, or other hard plastic smooth tires are good.
like these: http://cgi.ebay.com/12-RC-ABS-DRIFT-...QQcmdZViewItem 2) the 2wd stuff youve been fed is crap. 2wds will spin out. sur, you can find some 2wds with enough tuning options to makem drift, but it wont be easy. i got a tt-01, lock the diffs, slap on drift tires and you are drifting. it will only take alittle practice to make it do just what you want. |
RE: Drifting..
1. Almost every car will drift if you put slick tires on it.
2. 4wd is better for drifting. You will spin out a lot more with 2wd. You need the front wheels to pull you out of the turns while keeping the angle. |
RE: Drifting..
Thanks for the reply m8. I will be getting them tyres soon.
I have a nirto car at the moment , i will have a go at drifting with it as ive seen it done on youtube. But i think i might invest in a tt01 or something along those lines... cheers again Gavo |
RE: Drifting..
Hey those tires are basically ABS just precut. Just buy a big pipe of ABS (2" daimeter) and you will have tires for life.

RE: Drifting..
yeh 4wd best m8 for forward momentmum carries the chassis through the drift better, ive ran my TT in 2wd and it sucks its slower than 4wd lol[:o]
get some slicks or go to b&q for some pvc/abs piping to cut down and put over your rims for sliding or ebay do one piece drift wheels with hez connectors already;) Good luck and enjoy m8 [8D] |
