TT-01D problems...
Just the other night, my pinion and spur gears stripped out on my tt01d. It's a rtr that hasn't been disassembled, so i know the motor mount orientation is right. I guess now is the time to upgrade to 23/58 gearing to get ready for a 19 turn motor later on. Would most Robinson Racing pinion gears at my LHS be the right pitch to work with tt01 spurs???
Even weirder is my friend's tt01d has some stripping sound coming from the front of his car when you twist the front wheels quickly. We took out the diff and the gears look okay, as well as the gear on the front of the prop shaft. It almost looks as if the gear around the outside of the diff is warped slightly, but i'm not sure. We're going to replace it though since the g parts bag is so cheap ($5.40!). |
RE: TT-01D problems...
No you need Tamiya Gears for Tamiya Cars.. There is a Slight difference in pitch... Robinson I think use Imperial where as Tamiya use metric (Or the other way around) So Tamiya gears for Tamiya cars.

RE: TT-01D problems...
My LHS has metric Robinson gears, so i picked a 19T. They didn''t have the 55T/58T spur gear pack so i''m going to order it online then go buy a 23T or 22T pinion. I''m curious how 23/58 will run with the stock motor until i get my mild modified.
