How to lock the Diff.. Pics?

Hello Yall

I am waiting on a redcat lighting Electric car to come in.

I want to use the car for drifting, does anybody have any pictures how to lock the diff?

Somone here suggested using paper to lock the diff probaly will try that.

Any info on this topic would be great

I'm a Rc crawler guy as well as a drifter so i got a few tricks. First when you get the car take a look at the manual(if the car is a rtr or a prebuilt) then following the instructions remove the differential from the car and open it up. Now here's where my tricks come in: I like to take Locktite Sumo glue and put it on the two outer gears(the big flat round ones) You won't want to lock it if it's a ball diff you're dealing with, just make sure you tighten it so it gives you a locked diff feel but can still do it's job if need be.

Hope this helped, Nasher

i use the paper trick it works fine. just mash bits of paper in the sides of the big flat one on bottom then fill up making sure not to warp the dif when trying to tighten it

Can I suggest you drift the car first... then lock the diff if you are having difficulties with drifting..

Its easier to learn how to slide with a Stock car then it is with a car that you mod before you drive..

You need to get a feel for the car stock, before diving into doing drivetrain mods.. Some cars don't require any diff locking and some do..

Try Stock first... then lock the diff only if YOUR not happy with the way it slides...
