HPI Rs4 3

Hey guys I just bought an HPI RS4 3 and am wanting to get into drifting. Does anyone personally have experience with this car, and nitro drifting. Ive been looking around and I see alot of people do electric drifting. How does tuning differ from regular bashing? I know it needs to get more air to the engine but besides that should the LSN or HSN be any different, less or more lean? New to drifting and want to learn everything I can and anything you guys could say will help alot. I am doing research on the subject also. Thank you!

I have the same car as you, just the Plus version.
Make sure you really go rich on the HSN. If you don't, then you really blow the engine.
You shouldn't get more air in there, but more fuel for lubrication.
Also, you don't need full throttle. If you do, you'll only spinout... Doesn't accomplish much in drifting haha.
I can't figure out how to lock the rear differentials so even I am having that problem. (If anybody can figure that out, enlighten us:))
I made the shocks pretty stiff with those plastic things that come with the car.
Other than that, you can only learn through trial and error!
Happy drifting

Thanks man I really appreciate it. Are you using ABS tyres or real tyres?

ABS tires glued with hot glue on both sides of the rims so they don't slip out.
The electrical tape doesn't really work for nitro... At least for my case

I haven't tried any store bought ones because it's always a matter of money.
I bought a pipe that could easily be used for 3 sets of tires for about 2 bucks at Home Depot, whereas it would be about $60 dollars for the three sets at my LHS.

P.S. Have you tried messing with the differentials?

I actually dont have the car yet, I bought it on Ebay and it was shipped today so I should have it in a couple of days. But when I do get it and get used to drifting then ya I prob will mess with them
