drift tires
What's the difference between drift tires and regular slick tires? Seems like electric cars use tires that have a ring that allows the tires to slide with ease. Would regular slicks work for drifting on a nitro?

RE: drift tires
a slick tire or rubber tire is softer rubber, has high traction and is used for racing. a drift tire is the opposite. they are either hard rubber, abs, or a combination of abs and rubber and promote the slide or drift

RE: drift tires
What do most people use for drifting... I just did the ABS pipe on my sprint 2 and it seems great but is really easy to drift. Is is better to use drift tires...

RE: drift tires
do you know if super glue can be a alternative to regular tire glue?
|
RE: drift tires
i use super glue. i dont like the tire glue.
for drift tires, most comon are the abs, yokomo single rings and hard rubber drift tires from yokomo or hpi. remember, it's not about being fast, but how smooth and style. hard rubber tires tend to have more grip |

Electrical tape!:D
Works very nicely compared to PVC. I haven't tried the drift tires, so I cant compare the two, but black tape works the best for me. Just don't wrap it too tight or it will make the tire uneven and you will toast the outer parts of the tire. Use a dab of super glue/tire glue to hold the end of the tape on to keep it from unraveling. And make sure the end of the tape is going opposite to the direction of the tire rotation to keep it from unraveling. Oh, and its CHEAP, like me, lol. Cheers. |

RE: drift tires
spent 10$ on a cheap set of rims and sized them down a hair. then i went for 10$ bought 2"X10' thing of abs pipe. if u do the math thats about a 100 tires (i cut 1" tires). and the rims arent glued on but they dont pop off, it takes alot of force to do so.
so basicly i slide new rings on and off i go idk how long the rims will last changeing them but i will run the tires and just cut anothers on our table saw. its a good setup for me atleast. |
