Drifter Help!!!
I just traded with a guy and got this drifter:
Yokomo SSG SD (4 wheel drive) Novak 6.5R with GTB ESC Spektrum DX3 Several pairs of tire (hard plastic, foam, smooth rubber, rubber with tread) About to get a 3200mah 7.4v lipo but now use 7.2v 2400mah nimh I thought only rear wheel drive cars could drift, I took the car out today with Plastic (PVC) wheels and I couldn't get it to drift. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to post a video? What do I need to change? Thanks, Django Mangalam |
RE: Drifter Help!!!
That sounds like a pretty good car.
In the R/C world, only AWD cars can drift (as far as we know), but in the "real world, RWD is the primary drifter) I suggest using ABS plastic (black plastic), rather than PVC (white plastic) (better traction, less spinning out! :D ) Just to keep this reply brief, PRACTICE! For more info; I created this guide a while back, be sure to comment! RE: Drifter Help!!!
Yeah I locked the rear diff and I put on some plastic rings, now it is very easy to drift.

RE: Drifter Help!!!
so a 4wd car is the only way to go if u want to go sideways or drift

RE: Drifter Help!!!
In Short Yes..
AWD is needed... The Front Wheels counter act inertia causing the car to spin.... take drive away from the fronts and the car will just spin... So AWD is needed to go slideways... So the Fronts pull the car in the direction of the slide and the rears kick the tail out... |
