LOCKING REAR DIFF... TT01... OTHER Q'S
Hey guys I recently bought a TT01-E
put it together... it now has an alloy drive shaft, ball bearing set, Hpi drift tyres and I also have a graphite top deck and shock tower stiffner but i dont know whwre the stiffner is supposed to go???? Also iv been drifting around with it but it really lacks controllability? im finding it hard to do circles and tight drifts... Is this normal and will i get better? last question... how do i lock my diff on the tt01e... and also wot part is the diff? i know it sound like a stupid question but plz help... thanks also can you guys recommend any other hop up's other than what i got. RE: LOCKING REAR DIFF... TT01... OTHER Q'S
i had a tt01 previous to my yokomo bd.i put a alloy engine mount in to replace the factory plastic one.i had a 23 turn atlas motor, heaps of torque.great for drifting.alloy steering gave it some more turn.dont get to carried away with alloy arms etc as these tend to bend(more than plastic)plastic ones are cheaper to replace as well.the diff can be found if you open up the gearboxs(located at each end of the chassis.once you have the gearbox open, the diff will be sitting in the middle.a big gear wheel with a housing on one side of it.take it out, open it up.pack it full of bluetac and close it up and chuck it back in.thats a locked diff.i found locking the front diff got my tt01 turning sideways real well.get some good pvc(plastic) tires and youll be sliding all over the show in no time.
hope this helps |
RE: LOCKING REAR DIFF... TT01... OTHER Q'S
i locked only the rear and the car seems to do very well with this set-up
to get to the rear diff just examin your car... remove the back "bumper" and you will figure it out. i didn't look at any diagrams and figured it out on my own. once you pop the diff open (2 screws) just load it up with a glue gun and then close it back up again ;) |

yeh two people have mentioned that locking just the front works better atm iv done both i might unstick the rear and give it a try
