Drifting Newb

Hey all I just got a ExceedRC Driftstar. [link]http://www.wonderhobby.com/ex1drrtrrare.html[/link]
Im not sure that I am pleased with it. I dont wanna spend alot of money as I put most my cash into my Revo.
Is this a descent car to keep ? Can I "Hop it up" enough to be descent ? Or should I return it and go with something different ?
Any suggestions would be great.

Thanx
Steve

Return it for a TT-01 if you can much better chassis and drifts well with tyre setup and a lower turn motor ;)

Well its shipping back now. Looking at this [link]http://www.redgrin.com/110-xb-nissan-gtr-tt01-typee-chassis-rtr-p-486.html[/link]
or possibly [link]https://www.toysonics.com/tamiya-xb-nismo-coppermix-silvia-tt-01-rtr-57757.html[/link]
The more expensive comes without a radio though so Id have to get one of those also. Wonder why that is.

That's strange.. The more expensive says it has a radio, but then it says it requires a radio...
Email them and ask about it.

Also, I heard those stock LED's don't really do much. You can't drive in the dark with them real well anyways. (Coming from the guy at the LHS. He said not to blow your money on that)

Hope that helps.

Hey Flex those other two you listed above, can you find spare parts for them? I would go with a TT-01 or a Hpi Sprint. I have a Sprint 2 and she drifts fine. All I did so far was a motor swap from a 19x2 to a 15x2 and the difference is like night and day. The TT-01 is nice for drifting too though. I had one of them a few years back. Then only thing I did to that was the aluminum shaft upgrade. That plastic shaft will make all kinds of noise. hahaha No matter what you go with, make sure you can get spare parts rather easy for it. Both the TT-01 and Sprint offer a lot of upgrades for both looks and performance. I also ordered the adjustable diffs for my Sprint 2. It'll make drifting eaiser and smoother. Good luck, Joe
