good beginner drift car?
Whats a good beginner drift car? I have been reading around and have looked at the TT01D and HPI stuff. Is there a good site to buy through that has really good prices and service?
I want a site where I can buy everything I need in a kit or something along those lines. Thanks |
RE: good beginner drift car?
Keep in mind that most Tamiya ones are kits (you have to build) and don't come with all the electronics or radio (unless you buy a XB version).
HPI has a couple different ones but they don't have nearly the number of upgrades that Tamiya does. I'd suggest the Tamiya as building, maintaining, fixing RC's is just as much a part of the hobby as running them. |

RE: good beginner drift car?
Okay, I am looking for a 1/18 rc drift car.
It is near impossible to get the HPI Micro RS4 Drift. I was thinking of adapting the Team Associated 1/18 Rally car for this. But should I lock the front diff? Is the HPI DBox worth it for just having fun on the streets and your home. I am not looking to compete, but I have read a review from atomic mods that this is a good option, and you don't need the finesse that I don't have. Should I change the motor for this vehicle to give better options. Or should I just get the RTR and pop on some drift tires? |
RE: good beginner drift car?
I recommend you don't buy the dbox, as I found it's more fun practicing rather then the d-box doing all the countersteering for you (which is all it does)

many drifters find the D-BOX to be cheating... theres no point in having one its better to practice yourself
