Nitro/Gas Drift Car Project

Man I wish I never sold my Nitro RS4 3 but it was such a PITA since a side collision and front 40 mph collision really screwed up the car so I sold it as is after banging out the chassis with a hammer and reinstalling everything....should have invested in a fail-safe.....lesson learned!

So I got another crazy scheme up my sleeve....I am getting my yearly bonus with my company and I can safely afford a Baja or do this project car I have been thinking about for a while...

I want a gas car preferably or maybe nitro again but due to the cold weather I would prefer gas for ease of tuning...as I heard gas motors are easier to tune?

So basically 1/10 scale and above nitro/gas drifter with real rubber tires and 2 gears that way Iget some decent speed runs and good drifting.

I don't want a RTR. The drifters I am using now are a Sprint 2 Flux and a TT-01E locked rear differential.

Budget: $800 or so

Any suggestions?

Why dont you just buy an electric car so you dont have to worry about doing any tuning i hate tuning nitro engines there near impossible to get it running right and not have it to rich or to lean gas engines dont like starting in cold weather for anything so why not just avoid that hassle? electric cars are easier to maintain and there more you can do to them upgrade wise

RE: Nitro/Gas Drift Car Project

I already own too many electrics.

Electrics I currently built already include: AX10, SCX10, TT-01E, DF-03Ra
RTR: 1/16 VXL ERevo, Summit

Nitro RTR: T-Maxx 3.3, Revo 3.3

I want to build a nitro/gas on road car either for drift or touring. Been wanting to build a gas Baja but I'm not really into 2WD or buggies which is why I am leaning towards a 1/10 nitro kit as there are more options available for AWD. I just don't like the look of buggies, truggies, or stadium trucks.

Anyone have suggestions on nitro/gas kits 1/10 scale and up?

Sorry Alex but I cannot safely recommend a Nitro chassis for drifting as every time I do, the owner comes back saying his clutch has gone, his motor warped the head or he just plain cannot start it..

magnat,

So how does the HPI Nitro RS4 Drift perform? I understand that that car only has one gear...but I'd hate to have another RTR and I'd rather go gas.<br type="_moz"/>
