Exceed Drift Star

I got this car 2 days ago and I dont see why everyone is bashing it. This car is not only well made it is fast and fun. Im new to RC cars but this car took a full speed head on collision with a curb and it was fine haha. Can anyone here please explain to me what exactly the ESC (speed control) is and what it does. Ive been reading on some posts and it seems that if I put to big of a battery on this car it will burn up the esc. Is this correct? Also what are you guys running for camber/tow in front.

Ok first off do not mess with your camber and toe you just got the car. No a bigger battery wont burn up your esc it will just increase your drive times the only batery I could think of that would do that to your esc is a lipo batery but beginners dont really use those unless they have had prior experience with them, and what your esc does when you pull the trigger on your remote depending on how much you pull on the trigger your car will either go slower or faster I know you obviously know this but im explaing anyways ok well when you do that your brain is telling your finger how hard or how hard not to pull well when you do that this also happens with the car I.E the esc is the brain telling the motor how fast to go. And your car is fine for drifting dont listen to whoever is dissing your car if it drives is fast can drift and your having fun with it then its fine just because your chassis isnt from some major brand name company like Hpi or Tamiya doesnt mean there is something wrong with it

Ya I was referring to LiPo batteries. I have no idea how many turn my motor is but I am looking to change over to a brushless motor in the future. After 3 days of drifting with it I am pretty good. My buddy and I adjusted all the camber/toe like a real drift car would have and this thing handles even better now. Does anyone here recommend a particular brand of brushless motor and also if I buy a new motor do I have to replace the ESC as well?

1st yes you can use a Lipo on the stock ESC. you have to use a 7.4v lipo. if you go over you will fry the ESC. as for the Brushless moto. yes you will have to get a Brushless ESC with it. i would get a Combo brushless system.

Which company offers the best type of motor for the price. I would prefer to stay cheap or maybe there are brushed motors that are just as fast as the brushless for a cheaper price? Can anyone point me towards some decent motors for a good price?

hpi drift series motors 60 bucks each they go as low as 11 turns and as high as 27 turn motors the lower amount of turns more speed if you get a higher turn motor you get more torque which is what you want to drift the choice is yours
