RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis
SWEET! SWEET! SWEET!
That looks WORLDS better than Tony Phalen's Sylvia in the latest Driver mag (I don't think his paint skills are any better than mine!)! Can't wait to see it when you have it finalized! It's a basher? Man, that looks like a shelf-worthy body to me! You may see imperfections that make it a basher, but I sure don't! Say, do you do bodies for folk? You should! |
RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis

No, all hand cut vinyl on the outside... here are some other shots as it progresses, just put in the light buckets.

RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis
kstmRYD,
O.K., I saw a couple of fudges w/ the stripes, but it did nothing for my envy factor! Makes me wish I could paint better, but alas, I can only admire others' talent (such as yours)! Can't wait to see it over the Yokomo chassis! Great job, bud! |
RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis
Yea, I'm not going too crazy getting it perfect, she will be a working girl and she is going to get bashed, got a competition this weekend and I will be going up against two really competative rivals so she will defenitely see some action and get all scuffed up.
I have another body that I will begin to work on that will be a beauty queen, so I have to get that one perfect. |

RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis
kstmRYD,
Sure makes me wince when you say she'll get all scuffed. Still, gotta have a workin' girl- My last Mustang (yup, I'm partial to that design, especially the 64', 65' and the new ones) body lost her sheen a couple of months ago. Just an HPI pre-painted, because I'm still learning how to paint right. What's the shelf-queen body based on? Same as Xena, warrior princess above? :) |
RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis
Yokomo ORC 350Z, she will be a Raikou Drift Team body so color and decal theme will be used on several cars.
|
RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis
Oooooohh.....
You have to post pics of that body when and if.... Question: What graphics do you use? I tried w/ Hyperdrift, but one, I can't navigate their site, two, it just took too long. I'm not into waiting for just decals. It took three weeks, and I just got disgusted w/ the whole affair, so am looking for other places I can get graphics/decals. Any ideas? I'm thinking about the Honda S2000 body for a project, and have an idea of how I'm going to paint it. Need decals for it, though. I'd like it to have a little flash (normally, I'm pretty understated when it comes to color and graphics, but drift bodies I've seen are kinda "loud", so am willing to try brighter colors). Any suggestions you have would be appreciated! |
RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis
yeah that wasnt me i didnt even read the post my gf posted she's really childish sometimes she really hates my rc car to lol
|
RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis
leadfootdriver,
Yes, that IS childish. Hates an RC car? I suppose that's why she tried to trash it before.......competition! She should be glad you're not seeing another woman! BTW, did you try my steering fix for the Sprint 2? I've been running it for a few days now, and it's STILL tight! Give it a try! I just fixed another steering prob.- servo horn was stripped. I was going crazy wondering why it wouldn't center....... |
RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis
Gokemidoro-san
I noticed you asked a question on decals, here is a link to a list of decals that a shop in japan provides for RC Cars. He has a pretty large list of decals.. hope there is something in that selection that can help. Here is the link: http://www.rc-race-and-drift-japan.c...prn3nfhvcf0gf3 Leadfootdriver The paint is always done from the interior
|
RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis
KintoJin-san,
Arigato gozaimasu for the link, but I think I'm going to try that decal-making compound Parma sells (I forget the name of it, but I have it in a magazine). I have magazine subscriptions for gaming and such, and they have, on occasion, some pretty cool ads and pics in their reviews. I've seen those decals at Genki Dori Dori's site, too. I've purchased from them before, so I know it won't be a problem. I might have found someone interested in drift, here where I am. He wants to try RC helicopters, has one, but hasn't tried flying it yet. I told him about drifting, and he said "You can do that with an RC car?" Next time I see him, I'll show him my Sprint 2 and AE RC18R. He works where there is a HUGE parking lot w/ no cars, so he can drive them without running into things. Gotta start somewhere! Things are looking up a little! Thank you guys, for keeping my spirits up! : ) |

SIRCC,
Serious Cool!! I'm a fan of American muscle, and I haven't seen a Camaro body used on a drifter, yet. Those metallic graphics? Looking good! You painted on the outside? Different all the way around! I LIKE IT! Looks like it's sitting over a Sprint 2 chassis (of course, having a huge HPI decal on the hood, how can it not?!) Great effort, EXCELLENT result!! Kudos!. |

RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis

RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis
kstmRYD,
!!!!LOL!!! If there are that many HPI guys at the race, YOU are going to be one unpopular guy! The rear quarter panel is my fave! I'm an HPI guy (for the time being), but I can still laugh! Great work, my friend!
|
RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis
My hpi chaser is going to be all over that end
|
RE: shell for my new Yokomo Type C chassis
