Default looking for brushless off road rtr

Hello all my son has the losi strike rtr it did not last long 20 runs maybe in the yard first the transmisssion went then the motor. needless to say I wasn't very impressed with it as I never saw him abusing it. He has 300-350$ to spend and would like to get a good durable brushless off road truck or buggy. He will not be racing it at any tracks just using it in the back yard and woods. I am looking for advice rtr could go with a kit as could use the electronics out of the strike i suppose. The limit is 300-350 max out the door. I have read about the associated rtr sc10 brushless for around 250-260 but that looks discontinued. He is thinking about the brushless vxl 2wd slash also. It does not have to be 4wd. 2wd is fine. Thanks for any advice.

steve.

Firestorm Flux, SC10 Brushless, Traxxas VXLs aren't far off the Strike in terms of quality ITBJHO.

Only their strike and high roller was....The losi 22, xxx series, sct, crawler, ten-t are all excellent! Traxxas, some hpi, and electrix can't compare too those

There are very few RTRs that come with quality electronics.

ThunderbirdJunkie has no use for Losi's rebadged Hobbywing Xcelorin line, either.

That being said the Losi 22 RTR looks kinda interesting. Not interesting enough to buy it instead of a kit ITBJHO, but still interesting.

Ohio's got plenty of racing where ThunderbirdJunkie doesn't need to go to Chicago to race

That being said...if you really want some...ThunderbirdJunkie can request off for that weekend[&:]

TBJ, are you sure the Losi Twenty Two comes RTR? If it is, when will it be released? I thought it was only a kit. I know their new XXX-SCB is RTR; I have one.
