Stampede has more ground clearance if you plan on running in grass or deeper mud it may be a better choice but the slash is built like a brick outhouse and can apparently take quite the beating.

I say the slash cuz of the longer chassis , but the ped has those cool shock guards that attach to the arms . IMO the slash will be the better driving experience . Also out of the box I think the vxl combo pushes the slash with a bit more efficiency then the ped .

Those shock guards bolt right onto the slash as well.

I have them both and they are both fun trucks. I have found that the Slash acts like a sail on big jumps and gets blown off course by it's big body where the Stampede(lowered body) jumps very nicely. Both get similar run times.
As said earlier, which do you like more. Get that one.

It really depends what you want to do with it...If you think you want to get into racing at some point take it from me and don't buy Traxxas, but if you just want to bash around then go for it.

Slashes are lap traffic at my local track.
