Default My Losi Ten-T Electric Conversion BuilT thread

Hey,

So this is a builT, not a builD, thread...

Why? Because I'm a totally newbie at conversion... so not wanting a nitro car, but wanting a kickass 1/10 truggy, I relied on the generous donation of my buddy Chris C's time and knowledge. Thanks Chris!

So I'm totally stoked because this being my first year in RC cars/trucks, and our local club (LRCCC) having it's Invitational/BBQ this weekend, and me having only my tank of a monster truck Savage Flux to race with, I've been missing out a bit on some of the more popular race groups and the fun. Not anymore!

So when you're not a Nitro guy, what do you do??!!

You buy this...

Then you call Chris C...

What does Chris do? He says, "Ok, buy this...."

1 x TEKTT2300 Tekin RX8 1/8th Scale Competition Brushless ESC
1 x WSD1302 Deans Male Ultra Plug (2)
1 x WSD1301 Deans Female Ultra Plug (4)
1 x ASC29167 Team Associated DS1015 High Torque/Speed Digital Servo w/Heatsink
1 x NOV5851 Novak Assorted 6" Heat Shrink Tubing (Black) (24)
1 x TEKTT2243 Tekin Redline SC4X Sensored Brushless 550 Motor (4.5T)
1 x LOSB2359 Losi Radio Tray Set
1 x LOSB2412 Losi Top Brace
1 x LOSB2413 Losi Motor Mount w/Adapter
1 x LOSB2415 Losi Battery Tray w/Stop Tab & Foam Pad
2 x LOSB2416 Losi Battery Strap Set (2)
1 x LOSB3436 Losi Mod1 Spur Gear (40T)
1 x 15T Pinion
1 x 16T Pinion
1 x Sensor wire (ESC to Motor)

Then you give it all to Chris and he says... "Don't need this..."

"Or this..."

"Or this..."

"Or this... send it to EBay or a club member!!"

Then Chris sets to work...

And when Chris is done the outside still looks like this on the outside...

BUT ON THE INSIDE it looks like this...

I can't wait to run it on Saturday!!!

Looks great. Good luck out on the track, I hope it runs as good as it looks. With the components you have there it should.

Any particular reason you went with the nitro version and converted it rather than buying a Ten SCTE? Just curious.

Couple reasons... Liked the look of the Ten-T, wanted a truggy, Chris had just done the exact conversion so it was an easy redo for him & he was sure it'd rock

What do you want to know? Chris sid it was pretty straight forward, yank out the nitro stuff, layout the electric stuff, start aligning it all & screwing it in....use my overhead shot as a guide

LOL, damn it is blowing the wrong way upside down, never checked...... I put it outside cause I'm a newvie, LOL... it was the only thing Chris had not put on so in a rush I stuck it there... moving it now... hehe... thank you sir for correcting my error

That looks better...... (every noobs good for a laugh or two, eh?) LOL

Question about the ESC fan... should it run non-stop, or go on/off when needed?

If you have a Hotwire, you can set when the speedo's fan turns on ITBJRC. He hasn't had his RX8 hooked up to the hotwire in a while, but that's what he recalls.

That looks like a fun truck[8D]

Hmmm... I think the fan might have stopped after spinning a few times initially... wonder if Chris set a setting like that... hmmm...

This is the baby I was talking w/ about earlier... I did appreciate your input, it allowed me & Chris to push back & forth about what components to go with
