The thing i like about corrosion x is there would be no heat issues. Thats a major plus. I understand if youre geared right you wont have major heat issues, but what about when the weather changes and it gets hotter outside? youd probably have to remove the liquid tape.

if i do dip it in corrosion x, should i cover the sensor plug or just leave it exposed? Also, does anyone know about waterproofing sensored motors?

RE: Help Me WaterProof Hobbywing Xerun 150amp Sensored System
So, I took apart the motor today and these are the pics I took. Ive read around about waterproofing a sensored motor and all you have to do is waterproof the sensor rings. But, do i also need to waterproof the sensors themselves? Those are the sensors running up and down between the rings right? Thats what im guessing. Other people have said that they just used liquid electrical tape on the rings, but what about the sensors? I was also thinking of just dipping the whole thing in corrosion x.

So, i decided to use the corrosion x to waterproof my xerun system. This way I dont have to permanently attach the heat sink. I just dipped the sensor rings rather than use liquid electrical tape. I will use the liquid tape on the exterior of the sensor plugs and motor leads. The xerun motor is also sealed very well so im not too worried. Ill post pics after I seal the exterior.

RE: Help Me WaterProof Hobbywing Xerun 150amp Sensored System
So, am i the only one on these forums that has attempted to waterproof a sensored system? If there are others i would sure like to know how you did yours. I have googled sensored motors and have not found a single answer on how to waterproof the xerun motor, the sensor in the motor is unlike any others out there. Obviously i already waterproofed mine, i was just curious if im alone in this or just nobody cares....

Hey, I think it's interesting, FWIW. I don't have a sensored system but it's good to learn! What is the advantage of a sensored motor system?
Looks to me like you've done a pretty good job of waterproofing. :^)

corrosion X also wears off, it's a oil base. I trust the plasti dip, Ive had my vehicles completely submerged, without any problems. This is the 4th system I've done now. (esc, on/off switch, servo, RX). So simple.

Also, i dont if I should get the alumina adhesive or the silver adhesive. The alumina adhesive wont short any circuits out in case it gets on the pins, but doesnt transfer heat as well as the silver. The silver is also twice as much, but you have to be twice as careful when using it.

Thanks for the awesome reply. Very helpful. I will be using the Arctic Silver adhesive. I will also see if i can find a stick-on pad. What do you think about the smaller circuits on the side of the silver bars?
