540 motor ...newbie needs help

Default 540 motor ...newbie needs help

newbie needs help
how would I know if the motor is overheating cuz everytime I run it afterward the motor is realy hot is this normal. I have 23t pinion gear?
how much is the estimated runtime on a 17 double turn on a 3000nimh cuz mine only ran for 10 minutes first 4min has fast response the other the rest starts to slowdown?

if you are talking about the 17 turn and u can replace the brushes. take one out and see if is burnt or discoloured and also cheek the com. Also what car are u running

Im running a duratrax evader st
and I just bought 5hrs ago its a speed gem 17 double turn
battery are both trinity 3000nimh one is match and one is vis pack

I just want to know what are signs of motor overheating cuz Im not familiar with electric but on nitro I do know ... LHS told that I should go lower my tooth on my pinion

if you think it is getting to hot you could drop down a few teeth on the pinion. That should decrease the stain on the motor. Or if you are one of those people that just drive every were without taking of the throttle then you could try driving a little smother, this will also increase run time.
