Default NEW from our friends at Tacon!

Interesting release from Tacon.... Three 1/12 cars...a 4wd Rally and a 4wd Short Course both based on the same platform, and a buggy that's a tad shorter than the other two. shaft drive. and only $169. Hmm... getting spares could be an issue, unless Istocked up on EVERYTHING while they had the stuff. And they have clear bodies available, Icould paint one in Subaru WRC livery!

Sheesh $169 with a 35A ESC setup, and 2.4ghz radio...
electronics alone would cost at least $60-100 to buy from what it looks like
and places like HPI wonder why they are getting their rear ends handed to them.

Tacon Motors? Sure, for a bit of light bashing around. Tacon Models? Not on your nelly.

Why do ya say that, Foxy?  The model seems to be fairly well-built.  But it's hard to tell about build-quality and plastics quality from a video.  Have you seen these close up?  What can you tell us?

Because to date all these cheap Chinese trucks have horrendous quality plastic. I'd be happy to be wrong though.

considering you can buy a 1/10 brushless 4wd RTR for only $20-$40 more, I dont think the price is that great.

On the other hand, they do have alloy chassis and shock towers....which we dont see on many sub-1/10 scale RTR's.

As foxy said, the quality of the plastics will be the issue. Ive had a turnigy mini rally, and if the A-arms didnt shatter with a small hit then it wouldnt be a bad model for the money. But those are also sub $100.

I dont see myself paying over $150 for a model I might have trouble getting parts for!

Yeah, you have a point there.  I doubt LHS would stock parts for a chinese knock-off!    I wondered about the plastics. They might indeed be crap.  I liked the design, tho.   Wunna these days, I wanna get a 4wd...............
