Good brushless motor for 2wd traxxas slash
i was thinking Tacon 2950kv or the tacon for sct 4000kv. if there is anything better thats not to expensive (25-80$ not a combo) could you tell me I want something that goes really fast and has enough torque for loose desert sand. Thanks guys.

I run a 8.5 Speed Passion motor in my 2WD Slash. Does it need to be sensored or sensorless? If sensored, I use this one; http://www.express*********.com/product-p/sp13885v3.htm
Sensorless? Look for a 8.5 motor.

If you are playing in desert sand (or snow like me), lower kV might be your better choice. Higher kV also does warm up more so that is something to watch.
What ESC and battery are you running or planning to run?
One thing to note, at low speed or stopped, go light on the throttle or you may just dig yourself a hole.

On a hobby wing setup ezrun 35a 3900kv motor u should see speeds around 60km/h - 70km/h on a 2s lipo...
but that lipo u have selected won't cut it... It could potentially smoke the ESC or itself
u need something that can at least spit out 100a. So something like a 5000mah 25c

There are other factors, but kV is what the industry favors for motor ratings
Most of us run a 2s for daily running, and larger for occational running.

I was running a castle cm36 4600kv was quite alot of power bought for 60 worth about 20 now
I also ran a reedy sonic 5t 550 total overkill but lots of fun high speeds and can be geared to the moon and very unlikely to over heat. Im running a 36t pinion and a 70t spur in my firestorm and it doesnt even get warm

I just installed a castle sidewinder sct 3800kv combo yesterday with a turnigy 2s 20c 5000mah pack and finally got to run it today. Lets just say I was runnin for a good half hour before I broke a driveshaft. Motor was barely warm, battery wasnt showin any signs of dyin and it was stupid fast. Im VERY happy :-)

If your truck has a slipper clutch, try loosening it a bit. I had to do this myself with the sand paws getting too much traction and my motor putting down too much power. Spare driveshafts are in my parts kit for a reason.

seeing as you will be in sand you may want a sealed can you could look at something like this HPI Racing Flux Vektor 5900kv http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDHGM&P=7
it should give you enough torque as its a 550 can and enough top end depending on you voltage you run

Wish I could get that kind of run time. Before my ESC took a dive, I was getting 10 minutes or so. Admitably, it was -30 to -40 outside and the poor battery was cooling off too fast.
