Newbie Brush Question
Can you switch from a regular straight serrated brush to a cross-serrated
brush ?
The reason I ask is I reckon the straight serrated cuts grooves into the
commutator while the cross-cut does not. Ive just ordered a Chameleon2 Pro
and from what I can tell it comes with straight serrated brushes. I ordered
some 4504's along with it, so should I just start out with these or the ones
that come with it stock ? (4499).
Thanks,
Just a newbie slowly figuring this stuff out.

RE: Newbie Brush Question
I haven't tried the cross cut brushes yet but I've heard they dont increase comm life appreciably. What matters most for how much wear will occur is the silver content in the brushes. Higher silver content will wear out both the comm and brushes faster but give you more power. I use the trinity e-brush(4499). The cross cut e brush(4504) is the same silver content so it should be fine. If you aren't racing you could go to the 4070 for longer life.

the Chameleon does not come with the cross cut. I just picked a set of them up. Check out http://www.teamtrinity.com/motors/brushes.asp for more info on brushes...
