Rc8.2e wheels won't spin
So a year or 2 ago I used this buggy in wet grass and then stuck it on a shelf full of mud (dumb I know). Yesterday I pulled it down and cleaned it all up and found that the wheels don't spin. I disconnected the rear diff and found that the center and front diffs/wheels spin fine.
I can spin the rear wheels one at a time but they won't spin together. I'm guessing I need a rear diff rebuild? But I can't figure out how to remove it or find any info online. Any help would be great!

Wet, and two years? Whoo Wee. Hopefully, all you got is a couple of seized up bearings. I'd give the whole thing a cleaning/rebuild. You better get to it. You got a lot of undoing to do . That's one thing I disliked about that buggy...you have to take the whole rear/front end apart to work on the diffs. One thing that made the job bearable was a power screwdriver.

Basically, I worked in reverse as what is shown in the manual. For the front, I started with removing the turnbuckles from the steering blocks as shown on page 14 of the Factory Team manual, and work backwards from there. For the rear, I take off the whole rear assembly, like shown on page 21 of the Factory Team manual. Yes, it's a lot of "undoing" , and quite the process to get to the diffs. That is why I stated earlier about having a power screwdriver.

I was gonna rebulid it but it looks like it's $5 cheaper to order the whole thing compared to the rebuild kit. Is this the correct part? Do I need to pay attn to the # of teeth or anything? My old one doesn't have a # but I suppose I could count teeth.

Scratch that, I'm not done. The other gear that the diff spins with is stuck too. And the set screw to remove it is facing down towards the chassis....

I'd use just about any lithium/moly/waterproof grease that I had laying around. I got tubes, and tubes of AE black grease, but I currently use Maxima waterproof grease for all my RC lubing needs.
