Default Problem with throttle trim

I have a LRP S10 Twister with the original reciever and transmitter. The problem is that for one, my throttle trim isn't in the center of the knob and the second problem is that the center point of the trim changes.
I have had 2 or 3 times when it just hammers full reverse but my trim is full forward. Is there any chance that my reciever or transmitter is going bad?

edit: upon closer inspection it seems to be doing that when its cold outside. I was driving outside in about -3celsius and the trim kept on going more forward. Could it be that the colder temperatures are changing the trim knobs resistance?

Hard to say, but generally the potentiometer (pot) in the both the steering and throttle will tend to wear out over time... some brands of radios have replacement parts so you can swap out the trigger/steering if necessary, some brands will let you ship the radio to them for service as well.

If the radio is pretty old, or the electronics have been abused with excessive moisture, then I imagine that the radio has been damaged.

Sometimes you can get away with re-calibrating the ESC, but no guarantee if the pot will hold the settings anymore.

Good Luck!
