The car that re-started my passion for the hobby.
I was out of this hobby for near 10 years until Covid hit and home isolation boredom started to kick in.

On a whim ordered this Losi 22s sct rtr and it’s all grown from here.

upgraded with a 3900kv brushless system
bought the adjustable turnbuckle kit and the alloy chassis upgrade.

She’s seen better days but she’s due for a new body and shoes, to come soon.

basically stock other than the green alloy shock caps, an alloy steering drag link and a set of hoss extreme duty grey axles.

Team associated b4, couldn’t pass it up when I saw it on marketplace, just a roller currently, bit of a resto project that I want to bring back to early 2000s fast brushed glory.

My favorite (that day) because my niece was having such a great time driving it. Until she drove it into a parked car and broke the front bulkhead. It's a Losi LXT. I put a 25.5 turn motor in it, she's not a fan of my screaming fast cars. The 25.5 is a perfect speed for her. If I can just get her to steer better . . . .

I have the same issue with my daughter.

Shes 2 and loves playing with the remote but everything’s always full left or full right

and full throttle lol!

might get her set up with a crawler and see how she goes.

things break fast with 3s and brushless lol

That brings up another of my favorites. Axial SCX24. Pretty cool little truck. My niece can drive this one without issues - it doesn't go fast enough to really break it.
Only mods I've made to it were adding washers to the inside of the wheel and brass hexes. Both for weight. I do have a better servo and a brushless motor for it but no need for them yet.

I’ve had my eye on a scx24 for a while but haven’t known anyone else with one to ask how they are.

they’re a cool looking little crawler

Always love a stadium truck. I’ve got a t4.1 and a 22t 4.0 to put back together at some point.

the newest toy for the collection.

That Blitzer is like a stadium Bug, lol.

As far as Tamiya goes, perhaps my all time fave is the Lunch Box. Technically my kids RC. His birthday gift way back in '07. Had a blast with it over the years. It's not quite the same as it once was due to repairs and mods.

A lunchbox is the next on my “to buy” list.

I’ve always been a fan of the wheelie popping van.

I love the old retro lunchbox commercial too

i used to want one of those in the worst way. saw it in the "Sheldon's Hobby's" catalog in about 1994 but by the time i got the money saved up Tamiya had stopped making them. fast forward to 1998 and i bought a Kyosho Stadium Baja instead. a car i still own and have even hopped up with modern Ultima re-release parts and replaced the worn out Kyosho baja bug body with a Parma Blitzer/Sand Scorcher/Monster Beetle body.

extremely jealous of the clodbuster.

I’ve wanted one forever but can’t find one in New Zealand

just saw recently there’s a new “grey edition” clod being released but it’s US only….

Maybe it ends up on Amazon?
I'm not sure how that works for other countries. Every now and then I'll end up on Amazon Canada or UK. Or Ebay from somewhere else. In my mind its all the same store except the language and currency is different. But maybe a whole different set of goods?
Sometimes I'll see an RC car on Ebay (or whatever useless thing I am looking at that day) with $99 for shipping, with bids on it. And I always write that off to whoever bid being much closer, same country, whatever.

Back to appreciation . . . drove the LXT with my niece; it's all repaired. Also took out the HPI Blitz. It was another deal too good to pass up. Dude used to race it. Came with a sensored brushless setup, maybe a 10.5 or something like that. I have a 10.5 in my motor box that I'm pretty sure came from that. Has the nice aluminum shock bodies; all sorts of spare parts.
When I first got it I went through 2 or 3 spurs in short order. I started looking for 32p gears for it. Couldn't find any. But then it was fine, must have been a bad mesh or something. I did disassemble a few things and then put it back together. Maybe I fixed something that was off without realizing it.
I put sidewinder and a vxl motor in it. Pretty fast without being insane. We GPS'd the cars today. The Blitz goes 36 mph; the LXT goes a whopping 18 MPH.

The Blitz is in disguise as an AE SC10, lol. Got a good deal on the lid.

Just read a how-to on making your own links. I have an Axial I started messing with. I picked up some 1/4" brake line. I am going to thread the inside of it to 4mm. Going to get some 4mm threaded rod, screw it into the cut to size brake line, then screw erevo beefy rod ends to it. Bam, for about $20 I have nice new linkage all the way around. I should have enough for the mistake or two or three I will probably make in the process as well. Plus some left over for the roll cage I keep pretending I'm going to make. Brazing seems cool, seems along the same lines as sweating plumbing or soldering.

Starting to notice that all my rc's look like crap - I just cant seem to keep up with cleaning the dirt off. All of the ones you guys have posted look fresh out of the box.
And I really dig the bug body rc's. I do have one for a future/unfinished project. I'm getting the itch to wrap it up after seeing these.

see if these don't make you feel better. these pic's are over 20 years old, it's my RC10T3 after having run several packs on a wet baseball field

I’m a big fan of the bug body’s too, the megaladon one from proline would look great on my 22s sct.

thinking about getting that body and a set of paddles and sand ribs and making a dedicated beach basher.

i still need to order a megalodon body (or two) i hate the way short course trucks handle and parachute all over the place. i switched to the baja body hoping to help alleviate that and make the truck drive more like a bigger stadium truck. it helped but didn't solve the issue. the megalodon should help even further. plus it looks cool.

bonus pic's.
Blake had the megalodon and slug shark at a VW show i went to last year and i snapped some pic's.

Had the Tamiya TRF416 out for a drive with my niece.

it's a sweet rc, probably too nice for riding in the street through the leaves. But we had fun.

Ok, that picture is dated by a couple weeks. I got rid of the janky touring car wheels. VTA wheels all the way around now.
