Looks like you all have some sick setups and I was hoping to get some advice.
I'm looking at a Hobby wing max 8 sec and 4278 2250kv for a Arrma Kraton 6s. Would anyone see any drawbacks to a system like this?
I know a lot of guys would put a bigger motor in but I'm not looking to go ballistic just yet.

Thanks for the info. 2250kv isnt too high? Some people over on the Arrma forums are going for bigger motors and are not too much into this set up. I dont want to go over 60mph!

My only worry is running hot. But thats the great thing about a sensored motor, you can have a auto shut off if it gets too hot. I'm not to sure if Ill get much more power than the stock spektrum motor, but I just wanted sensored.

My Feedback: (10)

The hobbywing has a better reputation, that's not saying it's better but it is more costly. Personally I have had decent luck with cheap motors but with anything, the lower you go in price you are giving up something. Possibly just reputation, but it could be longevity or overall quality or who knows what.
Years ago when brushless was just hitting the scene the Ezrun esc and motors were considered the bottom of the barrel, now they are considered decent quality. Leopard isnt brand new, probably safe with that. I dont know much about hobby star.

Im not even so worried about the quality, Im sure its fine, its the kv being kinda high 2200 ish. I don't think I can put a big pinion in it so I hope with 13t it will go fast enought and the 15t wont get too hot if I put one in.
