Default Traxxas slash motor replacement melting off solder

I recently “found” my old slash in my garage afree probably 5+ years and decided to get it back up running, battery was bad so I got a 2s 5800mah 7.4v traxxas lipo. For some reason I can’t remember I got an “upgraded” motor a hackmoto 13 turn 540 brushed motor way before, now when I try and run it, it gets SUUUUUPPPPER hot after a few minutes of light messing around and melting off the solder, their joints I did and their good, solid joints of 60% tin 40% lead solder. I quite honestly have no idea what’s wrong, the motor turns fine, none of the bearings are bad. I thought it could be the gearing maybe? It’s just the stock 23 to 80 tooth gearing? When I ran it outside the buggy it still got super hot really quick. I’m not against getting a replacement motor but I’d like it to be reasonably cheap if I need to.
