Generally, the higher (numerically) pitch gears, like 64P. are smoother than 48 or less. The 64 for example, will have more teeth engaged at any one time, so they feel less "notchy", ya know? It's not really nessessary, but if you're racin' and looking for each perf. gain you can get...

its cool that you wanna say hi but its a little preferable for me if you'd send me a PM insted, do that A.S.A.P O.K.?

proptop, so its just another one of those little not-so-important-changes you can make, right?

You cant get anything by changing gear pitch. ITs just a matter of getting the job done man.
Gear meshing is slightly beyong our scope of understanding at this time, but as long as your gears are properly meshed, your fine!

the 48 pitch gears last longer but make more noise. the 64 pitch all so give you more finner gear ratio changes. I hate noisy cars l

I think I read somewhere that the 64 pitch gears strip easier, especially when using a low turn or brushless motor. I read that many people with good brushless setups switched to 32 pitch gears because even the stock 48 pitch teeth were too fine and stripped.

i think for more power full motors it would be wise to go for 48 but 32 is a bit high. they only strip if the mesh is wrong. 64 will wear quiker i change mine as often as needed. no point droping out of a race when you could have spent a few dollars and brought a new one.

very interesting thanks

If your car wasn't listed in the gear box ratio list heres how to work it out. Only know how to do belt drive.
Example. RS4 Pro 2. Number off teeth on main diff / Number of teeth on drive pully.
SO 32/15=2.1333333
Spur/Pinnion*2.13333=Finnal drive ratio

116/35*2.133333=7.0705 (4dp)

this will probobly work for the shaft drive as well by dividing the diff gear by the gear on the shaft. (NOT SURE)
