D5 Brand new and I have to push start it.

Default D5 Brand new and I have to push start it.

I have a 10X2 flat d5 and have ran 2 batterys through it and all of the sudden if it stops it locks up and I have to give it a push .I cleaned it gave it new brushes checked and played with the timing and the comm looks and feels new.any one had this problem? oh it does this in and out of the car as well

did you break it in properly?, meaning did you run a low voltage through it twice (i have the same motor, i ran 4.6 volts through it before i used it in my car).
try addin some motor lube to it. other then that maybe you got a dud? LOL

yea ill have to agree with slam. maybe you didnt break it in right. have you checked the capacitors? i had a motor that the capacitors blew and it didnt work or sound quite right after that. you may also want to check your pinion and spur gear are they binding on anything? is the gear mesh right?

also one of the most overlooked things is the wires. Make sure the wires are attached properly to the motor with a good solid connection and also make sure the battery wire is making a good contact to your esc, throught the plastic connecting clips.

Sounds more like a sticking brush, give the brush hoods a good clean with a cotton bud and some motor spray or a comn stick.
Put it all together and pull the brush braids in and out, check that the brushes are moving freely with no binding.

instead of a commstick you could use just a regular pencil eraser.

I had some similar probs with some old brush springs... you may want to check those...
