Default Radio / reciever issues

Hey RCU
I have just completed my car, and looks like I am in some trouble. Looks like my reciever and / or radio don't see each other.

My setup is....
-Airtronics Mx-3 75mhz
-Channel 80 Reciever Crystal 75mhz
-Novak XXTRA synthesized Reciever
-LRP Comp 2 ESC

I dialed my Reciever to channel 80, and when I turn the car and radio on, I can't seem to move the servo or the motor. The ESC and the Servo are in the correct slots as well. What is my problem here? I don't have the manual to the radio, is there something I have to do when I first plug in the reciever to the radio? Any help is grately appreciated, thanks!

You don't need a receiver crystal if you have a synthesised receiver, you'll need a TX (transmitter) crystal for the transmitter.

Hmm I can't find a "tx crystal" for the Airtronics controller, I can't use the C80 crystal I have now?

I dont belive so. . . I think you have to get both. Which is impossible becasue I dont think they make a crystaless modual or somthing for the MX-3.

It should. Are you dead set on sythasized? I mean it would be cheaper to just get another rx that would work then to sell the whole system. Just sell it on RCU's marketplace and use that money to buy a new one.

Yeah pretty sure I want to get synthesized, that way I can play with all my friends and not worry about crystals. What does RX stand for? Thanks for your help!

RX= receiver crystal, as opposed to a TX which is a Transmitter crystal

Aww crap, I bought a reciever crystal thinking they were all the same. So is the problem really just the crystal? Or do I still need a synthesized controller? Thanks!

Its just the crystal!!! Just buy a TX crystal and you're set.

Well I just went over to my friend's house to borrow his TX crystal from his Airtronics controller, and sadly it still won't work. I set the channel and everything, the servo and motor still won't move. [:@]

Yes the battery is charged. Right now I need to find out what the problem is before I go buy more stuff.

Using my friend's Channel 90 TX didn't work. I think the transmitter could be the problem. I will check using my friend's car tomorrow. Anyone else have a guess? Thanks guys

I am just throwing this in for consideration. I am not familiar with synthisized recievers, but isn't there something about certain crystals needing to be compatable with certain radios and transmitters? Something about dual or single conversion? Does this apply in this case?

Here's an update, turns out my MX-3 radio isn't working. How I know, I tried the same crystal in my friend's radio, and the car worked fine. So I know for sure the radio is dead probably.

Does anyone have any guesses on what's wrong with my MX-3? It's not sending signals.

Thanks for the help everyone.
