Now those are Dark Impact tires, by Tamiya. Seem pretty hard wearing, mine have little or no wear after a lot of good use...

I don't know about these tires? What do you guy think if they were on the RS? I don't really know if they would work. I kinda want to make it into a truggy.

Those tires are insane traction wise but I ran them in snow on my rising storm with a 550 drill motor and 16t pinion and it was still horribly overgeared.
Also, those wheels are made for a 2wd truck so the front are most likely different than the rear.

So you had a set of them, and they worked on the RS? Do you think they would work ok if it was geared right?

It's impossible to gear right with the rising storm and large tires. You are limited to 4 different pinions and the larger tires also require much stiffer suspension and it puts alot more stress on the suspension and drivetrain.

I have another video of the rising storm driving in snow. This is my first EDITED video. Instead of 30sec like my other ones this one is about 4 minutes of RS in action. The resolution is pretty bad, I took the video with my phone, not much I can do about that. I'm running stock motor for the winter. Tell me what you guys think for this being my first actual video.

Are your front and rear tires the same size? If not the rear will be going faster and in turn binding will occur. I remember going in snow with mine!

In the first half, I was running bigger tires in the back. I know that it would bind, that's why I disconnected the four wheel drive. In the second half, I had the four wheel drive put back in with the stock tires, that's when I was trying to do some drifting

RE: Tamiya Baja King /Rising Storm kits
Well it's been awhile since I last been on here and a lot of things have happened to the rising storm "Mostly bad"... The first thing I broke was the back left shock, then I broke the front left hub, after that the steering link broke, and also I broke the support for the spoiler off and the body mount. The last thing that broke happened yesterday. I was driving it in the snow and I'm pretty sure that I got water in the ESC and shorted out. I took it apart to day and found that one of the components inside had melted all the plastic. I think too that since I'm running bigger tires and a modified motor with stock ESC, that could be another reason it shorted out. As you can see I've been pretty harsh on it, but I'm still and surprised on how well it took huge jumps and crashes. I'm planning on rebuilding it. Starting over with a new parts. I also need a new ESC which I'm thinking on getting one that can handle a 19 turn. I'm still not sure what turn that modified motor is. I'm also going to lower the gear ratio to compensate for the larger tires, since it's pretty hard on both the motor and ESC. But hopefully I can get it back up and running again.
