ORIGINAL: secretsg

Forget the rc4wd box. Just buy a traxxas e-maxx/revo gearbox and be done with it. I keep looking at doing a txt but with the amount of parts I want to swap out it almost makes no sense to buy a kit. [&o]
Hmmmm. I have the (first) E-revo tranny in hand now, but unfortunately it is slightly different from the E-maxx tranny.
Thus I don't think I can use the RC4WD tranny adaptors:
http://rc4wdstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=208

E-Maxx tranny manual:
http://www.traxxas.com/products/elec...x-sutranny.pdf

E-Revo tranny manual:
http://www.traxxas.com/PDF-Library/5605_tranny.pdf

Have anyone tried the E-revo tranny yet? Does it work OK with the RC4WD adaptors? Maybe with slight modification?

I could of course make my own adaptors.

Arild got some parts for his TXT.. so I took some pics for him...

Revo shaft, check.. (only one, though.. !) 2 digital servos.. some REVO shocks.. not sure if these will work on a TXT or not, they are very stiff as they were designed to work on a high leverage canti system..

Arild is going to end up w/ a nice Traxxas, I mean, Tamiya, TXT soon..

The shocks are not for the TXT

There is another e-revo driveshaft on the way. The short ones are unusable as I see it. I have the junfacs still in my parts bin though. The watertight blue traxxas servos are 'nice to have' at a bargin so I've been picking up a few

I tried selling my TXT-1 on RC Tech, always wound up in a trade and people were afraid to send a money order because I had 0 trader rating.
So I guess I'll keep it, maybe take the TXT chassis and use it on my bullhead if I can get it to fit.

wow .... I just finished reading all 140 pages of this awesome txt-1 novel! lol took me about 5 and a half  days.

i am on the market for a txt... i think. i definetly want an r/c about the same size to drive like a monster truck - FREESTYLE. probably want to build a custom MT.  definetly with 4wd and 4ws. i am a virgin still i have not built yet. new to this hobby. open to suggestions. will need help with some info. like cells and radios, i think i am settled on a  EVX 16.8V Waterproof ESC and twin 550's off the new Emaxx.  also i saw a truck posted by LB (one of his "check this out" posts) that had wheely king shocks, i like that setup of shocks, not necesarrily WK but maybe something bigger and soft. i would like to build a custom tube chassis and roll cage like the realistic grave digger LB posted a couple years ago and i just might throw a gravedigger 1/8 parma body on it. well would like to hear any comments and i'll keep ya posted.

****BTW. i am considering buying off the classifieds in this site so any warnings or advice? would be my first time buying online and want to stay safe******

I did a trade at the Classfied section once..  had a good experience..  but I suggest you use common sense and do some research..  (about the user who you are about to do trade with, etc.)

If you have more questions about that, you can make a post at the general forum..  I bet many people will give you some advice..

Anyway, good luck w/ the TXT project!

Here are the first pictures from my Revo BL/Summit tranny conversion.

Pictures of the inside of both the Revo and summit tranny. The Revo trenny is not 2 gear shiftable, and seem really sturdy
I also posted my first stencil for the 'hole' Ihave to make in the aluminum plate.

More to come later

I need to do some further customization to fit it perfectly to the Revo tranny.
After I assembled the tranny/motor/spur/slipper/drive shafts I found several points I need to adjust.
No time for it right now so it will come along later. I'll post a finished template for the alu plate when I am finished so anyone can copy it

i got my txt finnally! i need help finding parts though. i am a rookie to this hobby and had no idea what i was getting into power-wise. wow this thing has power! http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemId=516397 . check it out this is where i bought it. i guess these tires have so much grip and locked diffs made the nuts loosen and tires came off. i lost a piece (gold) that goes on before the wheel and i need to replace it. in the user manual it is md7 wheel hub. if you know where to get it i would appreciate the help thanks
