RE: T4 RTR wins the shootout
AI think they should have used the brushless XXX-T.... It's still a RTR that you buy off the shelf.
And I would like to know what they were judging... Best handling, fastest, best acceleration, best basher?

I'm extremely happy with my Losi XXX-T... Even though it placed third, I wouldn't trade it for either of the top two finishers.
Great parts support, built very well, smooth running.. Great as a Racer and Basher.
One mans opinion.

LOL, anyone reading RCCA, don't believe it. I know that no car magazine, or any, is as biased. They basically get paid to make a certai car the best. I know a XXX-T is a better car for a FACT, having driven it. Also, notice that RCCA didn't choose the XXX-T brushless. Why? Because it is better than the T4 rtr, and they would have gotten in trouble with traxxas and thunder tiger

RE: T4 RTR wins the shootout
yep, like said earlier...its all a matter of opinion and personal preference. basically ae and losi are at the top of the pile...bottom line. now the differences between the two is minor and personal preference. i personally prefer my t4s and would put either one of them up againest any other stadium truck out there.

RE: T4 RTR wins the shootout
Ok guys, let's do this. We'll all meet in Perth and put on a "Brushless ST Shootout" of our own. This RCCA shootout involved RTR, out of box and only Proline tires for all the cars. I have a T4 FT but that doesn't make Losi or Duratrax poo-poo by any means. We all KNOW which cars are the better ones 'cause we drive 'em. My idea of a GOOD car would be:
1. Strength
2. Brushless capacity
3. Handling;good shocks
4. Strong hardware; ti & al
5. Ball bearings
6. Parts availability
..........the rest is up to my driving skills.

RE: T4 RTR wins the shootout
1 is basically only the rustler
2. so much for the evader and rustler
3 Losi, AE, and Sportwerks
4. none.
5. all but rustler
6. all but raven st
So AE and Losi win.
I want a shootout of all the highest kits against each other.
FT T4
XXX-T MF2
Evader Pro ARR
And someone besides RCCA do it.
I vote RC Driver.

RE: T4 RTR wins the shootout
FT T4 comes with ti hinge pins and turn buckles. Plus, all screws are hardened and that's strong hardware.Right?

RE: T4 RTR wins the shootout
4.5 points on a scale of 60 is not a lot. Don't look too much into the numbers, take things for what they are. The problem with these comparisons is that magazines tend to be biased in general. Maybe not toward any specific product, but biased towards the positive and away from the negative. A bunch of 'positive' or 'highly recommended' reviews is of no use to the discerning buyer. Yet if the magazine is too negative about any product, there goes their relationship with that vendor. And mags rely on vendors for free / early products to test and review, for advertisement, etc. And they want the industry to grow so their readership increases.

RE: T4 RTR wins the shootout
I for one am biased to associate, and now that associate has won an equal across the board shoot out, id like to see a shoot out with all having brushless in them, i am sure the results would be the same. Just a FYI i do own a mflosi and 2 rustlers, and my kids have 2 evaders.

RE: T4 RTR wins the shootout
rcca did do one with the ft t4 and MF2(i beleve in october of 05' or 04')....the mf2 came out on top they said that the mf2 was a better race for more experianced drivers and the t4 was better suited for entry level racers. but i really dont see whay all the bickering and arguing(besides it being fun) teay are bothe made to race and that is what theay are good at....it comes down to personal preferance....it you gave tebo a MF2 to race after he got the haing of the truck he would be doing just as goo as he would with his t4, and same if you gave francis a t4. but in my opinion having driven both truck i prefer the mf2, but i do realy like the t4.

RE: T4 RTR wins the shootout
the T4 rtr won the first shootout(only it and the xxx-t rtr 2) but maily because it was faster....but i would hope so seing as how it has a 15t motor and xxx-t has a 19t.
