I use it...but because of the bad weather i couldn't getting out for a real run...tamiya's dual motors ESC work perfectly in house...pulling wheelies, and give me more than 15 min with a 3000 mAh pack...stock motors...

Only planning on putting it on the rear...
The front will be the JunFac skid.. that extends further out to protect the steering links!
These rc4wd skids require opening the gearbox... [:@]
Note a longer screw is installed from inside the tranny..

I didn't quite like the shape of the skid... I am not quite sure why it was shaped that way.. but I hammered it flat to gain some ground clearance on the motor side... and now the skid curves up toward the tranny much better...
You can see the imperfection.. the line near the hex screws...

That's it.. not bad! Should give the rear tranny good protection.. and the curve surface should allow it to glide through bigger obstacles.. maybe I should take those hex screws out and just use the regular screws.. as the hex head would seem to catch easier.. (not that this is a rock crawler...!)
Hmm.. easy to change them out, so I will run as is for now...

LOL, they are steel... kind of shiny... not by my choice!!
But they are definitely added to the Clod for their functionality, not the look..

Just to add to the resource thread.. if you want to keep the stock shocks and increase the suspension travel.. here's a video showing you what mod to do..

I saw that one as well and really liked the look of it! it looked to me like a wheely king at first... but then i noticed the clod chassis...
looks like it might have a high C of G

It is a Clod w/ stock suspension setup (but w/ oil shocks) so it probably does have a high CG...
I bash w/ my lexan shell.. and it rarely tip over!! This one looks like a lexan shell too!

I think my Project Stock(ish) Clod is now officially over.. front and rear skids.. front skid extends out to protect the steering links.. I am a happy man...

But I am sad on the other hand that the project is over..

Clods probably have the most potential for mods for an rc. I've even seen gearboxes for it that would hold 2 motors per gearbox. Could you imagine 4 brushless motors in it?
