Safe down to 27t I think is what it's rated for... I've run a 19t on mine without issues, but it will thermal overload if you have the gearing wrong.
It's best suited for 27t and up in my opinion. Not much of an ESC, great for a free setup though
Also, there is no "BEC" it just passes battery voltage directly to your servo, so if you're running 7.2v battery -> 7.2v goes to your servo.

According to Tamiya, it is only rated for silvercan and Sport Tune.. which are only 27T motor..
HOWEVER.. it is rated for 60A (or 45A?) so Tamiya is being conservative.. I have seen people run 23T Super Stock on it without any problem.. some people even push 19T on it.. although, you'd be doing it at your own risk..
If your RX have BEC then you are okay... You only need one of them to have BEC...

RE: Tamiya TEU-101
i tried it in a clod with the dual silver cans. It ran almost WOT the whole pack with ease. But then LB said that was RC abuse so now its running in my tt-01 with a 17t. its geared up at 25/58 and it still won't quit. It barely gets warm at all.
inshort these are tough little units. It has higher amp ratings the novak xrs which is rated for 15T (40A compared to 60 of the 101bk)

I've run 19t on mine with no problem. I have also run the dual motors on the TXT just fine as well, I think it is a tough little unit.

I want to run a checkpoint money 19t on it and I haven't thought about changing my gearing. This is for my tamiya sand viper if that helps.

If you run 19T, you definitely should change the gearing..
Also, w/ a high performance 19T, you'd be pushing the TEU-101 for sure.. so try at your own risk..

TEU101 is a great esc and I have put a larger heatsink on mine just to make it look cool with blue Mindwreck, were the two silver cans wired in series or paralell? I'm dieing to try out my twin detonator but am not sure if the esc couls take the heat of pushing 7.2v to both motors.

haha ya I'm ordering 2 for sure. I just wanna test the truck out to see if my suspesnion design works good and how it handles. Who knows, if it's durable I might leave the electronics in there and get some new ones for the buggy.
