New stampede maintenance and battery care??
Hi, I ordered my new stampede recently and was wondering what is the regular maintenance? I mean, I have heard that I am suppose to oil de motor bushing every run? is that true?
Also I ordered with it a elite 3600 7 cell pack from cheapbatterypacks.com, and I was thinking if it is something I need to do like a cycle it before use or something? like a break-in method? sorry for the questions I have been involved in the nitro part of this hobby for 4 year now but I a total newbie for electric, any help is apreciated, thanks in andavace.

RE: New stampede maintenance and battery care??
Hey, First of all the bushings.. you should upgrade them to metal ball bearings as ur first hop-up
and, no you dont need to re-grease them e\/ery run (depending on what you run in)
if you run onroad with no dirt or stuff you should be fine (for a<ouple of runs)...
on the other hand if you run in dirt, et<.. you will need to get all the <aked dirt off just so you dont
wre<k anything.
And as far as the battery, for the first <harge
i heard if you <harge it slowly it will gi\/e it a longer life... (not sure if true)
but when i got my new battery i <harged it fully ran it fully empty, and it seems
to be still fine.
hope this helps

Take it easy, he said several times his keyboard is busted, besides, I think he spends all his money on R/C so there isn't much room for a new keyboard.

I'd form the batteries at a slow charge rate before you start to charge them at a faster A rate; it's supposed to make them last longer.

I may also get a Stampede. Traxxas came out with their own bearing holders and I think they come with the bearings. I'm doing another visit to Ultimate Hobbies location in Orange on my way to the Loreena McKennitt show(relocated due to Griffith Park fires!). I'll see if they have them. I probably won't get the truck right away. If I decide on it, I'll get a supply of parts first.
I have the Duratrax Piranha digital charger. I can set the amp setting from .1 to 3 amps. 5 amps from a power source but I'll just plug it in the wall. I was told charge it at 1 amp first few times.
