Default new nimh battery,s

hey all 1st this is a great site love it im a newby so im loving this place now for the q
is there anything special i should do to a brand new nimh bat. ? this is probably a really lame question but i dont want to waste bettery,s
and also what does battery conditioning do exactly ? any help at all would be great thanks

Just cycle the pack about 3 times if you can. It will get the pack up to "spec" before you run it. Kind of like breaking in a nitro motor.

awsome so you just run it right ? my charger doesnt have a discharge option and i always drive it like i stole it LoL

I think he means a discharger of some kind, either on the charger, discharge rack, or a little resister or something you plug them into. You can buy several differant kinds of dischargers or you can make one with auto bulbs. If you look hard enough you can find diagrams of them. I'm planning on making one. Are they expensive batterys? The first pair of batterys I bought was a a couple cheap crappy venom 3000's, never cycled them because I didn't know I was suppose to. They work ok. I think you can cycle them later when the performance drops off and you get a discharger. If they are good batterys though, I would get some kind of discharger and cycle them first.

I had a Deans discharger with the bulbs, it was also a car stand. It worked ok but now I have an ICE.

kewll im going to get a discharger soon but the bat,s are cheapy,s 1 of them is a venom 3000 LoL figured i would go cheap till i learn what to do with them then i might get a 7 cell or something worthy . so let me ask 1 more q .... when discharging do you run them all the way down or do you leave some voltage ? and thanks all for the help this site rocks like the cliff of dover

Try not to take the voltage below .9 volts per cell. If you go to low you risk damaging the cells.
