Default Deans or Traxxas Connectors?

Which are better? Or are they about the same?

Personally I started using deans years ago before the traxxas connectors existed. I don't see any compelling reasons to switch. The traxxas ones aren't cheaper or notably better in any way. They're a step up from what all the other RTRs include, I just wish they had gone with the de-facto standard.

The Traxxas connectors are able to handle more amps from what Ive heard. I use both and favor the TRX connectors more because there easy to seperate, look better than the deans and are easier to solder.

Sounds like that has rumor written all over it. I can go ahead and say dean's handle more amps. I am just saying that I do not believe that unless there is proof.

Both are the same and no one will notice a difference between the two. I use dean's on my 12 cell lipo setups with no problems.

I have looked for specs on the Traxxas about 3 different times on Molex site and can't seem to find them. Anybody have any luck finding the specs/manufacturer.?

The TRX connectors have a larger metal to metal contact area. The two connectors a very reliable and yes you wont be able to nitice a difference but im just saying what Ive heard.

I was quite impressed with the traxxas connectors. I do a lot of work on generators and motors, and I've found myself using traxxas connectors in a few non RC applications. I've put some serious current through them, far more than any RC motor would draw, and theyve held up.

Ive also noticed that with TRX connectors when you plug a high voltage battery in that the voltage isnt able to jump from one side of the connector to the other when you plug it into the ESC. Always happens to me with deans.

Performance wise, I see no difference. I personally like the feel and looks of deans better but thats an opinion.

If you look at the surfaces that slide together and contact each other, Traxxas barely touches. You can see just a line where that contact, the metal pieces aren't very flat. Deans on the other hand seem to have much flatter surfaces that contact with much more surface area. Traxxas are easier to pull apart. Both are easy to solder if you know what you are doing, I prefer deans though.

I use deans. I hate that these car manufacturers are coming out with their own proprietary plugs and it just makes everything a pain in the butt. Just learn to solder your own deans.

I would rather have Traxxas connectors stock then the Tamiya ones... It's not like anyone really uses the Tamiya, most people convert to deans anyways. This way people have the option stock though.

There completely different connectors. Tamiya connectors are low amps low voltage while TRX and Deans are high amp high voltage connectors.

I personally think that only the people that have used both should be posting/voting otherwise its being biased.

I've never used Traxxas connectors and I won't. To me, they look very bulky.
